I was very weary about buying footwear on the internet especially since I tend to be hard to fit. A couple of years back I took a chance and bought a pair of these flat toe Laredo's: [...] tend to be between a 91/2 and a 10 but my first Laredo's, size 91/2, fit me great with very little break-in time so I decided to get another pair but this time with a pointed toe. These Hawk boots fit a bit narrower in the toe due to the point and needed a little more break-in time but I expected that especially with my foot type. However, they are still a great fit and I'm very happy with them. My first pair were black and I have to keep them clean and polished so that they look good but I got this second pair in a dull brown. They don't show the dirt or require as much care. I could have sworn that the first pair I bought came straight from a factory in the US but I see the new pair are made in China. They seem to be the same quality, though. These boots are on the economical side. I wear mine just a few times a week usually for short periods so they have lasted but I don't think they would last more then a year or so under everyday or heavy wear. The shafts are also synthetic which sometimes feels like a plastic bag around your calves especially in hot weather but it helps keep the price down. I'll continue buying Laredo's mainly because of the great fit but I am actually willing to pay for a little better quality. ... show more

The boots were good quality, design, and fit. They were very stiff in getting them on; I had to use very thin nylon socks to slide into them. I was concerned the size wasn't right. After a half dozen outings, they fit as they should. I purchase boots an extra half size long and wide to bypass the break-in stiffness. ... show more

I haven't had or worn a pair of western boots in over 15 years. So, I decided what the heck the Hawk style boots looked sharp and the price was quit reasonable. Well, the boots arrived today and far exceeded my expectations. The quality is excellent, fantastic color and overall detail stitching outstanding. Other reviewers stated they found the boots to run on the small side. However, I wear a 10 to 10.5 shoe depending on the manufacture and shoe style. In looking at the boots the boots have a narrow cut towards the front of the boot due to the snip toe style. So I figured a 10.5 would be my best choice. Well, the boots are in fact true to size in spite of the narrowing upper snip toe. So a size 10 actually would have fit a little better as opposed to the 10.5 size I purchased. I failed to keep in mind that leather does stretch after a few wearings. In any event I'm keeping the 10.5 size and I'll just wear thicker socks to make up for the little extra room. Other then the i0.5 being a smig big. I'm lovin my new boots. I'm placing another order for a pair in black as well. But this time in a size 10 ... show more

I bought them from a retailer (Boot Barn) and so I decided to order them form Amazon in black, same size and all. For some reason they feel a little more snug than mine. Perhaps I just need to wear them in, but I only bought the other ones about a month ago and I don't recall them fitting this tight. Anyway, wearing them now to stretch them out a little bit I just wish there wasn't ice outside so I wouldn't slip and fall on my ass. It's a nice boot, it's pointy toed so be prepared to have to polish them otherwise the point shows some wear within a few days. It's a nice design, well made, comfortable boot. This item says extra wide . However, it fits exactly like a wide. They feel horrific and are very hard to take off. My feet hurt so badly for two days afterwards. I do not recommend these.
