It has a mild smell but it should go away after some time (I hope). Aside from that, I love the pockets and the color. It can carry a lot, but I wish it was a little larger. I was hoping to use it to carry my laptop, a notebook, and a couple of pens when I only have one class, so I don't have to carry my backpack. But, it's not long enough. My laptop can fit if I flip it but part of it sticks over the zipper in this orientation. ... show more

I ordered somewhere in the neighborhood of twelve purses from Amazon the last couple weeks. I've always been picky about handbags so I wanted to be sure I had a good look at all the options. I ordered two Lapsting bags. I'll review them separately: 1 piece 18 inch bag. I feel like the description of this bag set me up for failure. Since most bags are measured by the length at the bottom, I had this idea that I would be receiving a huge bag 18 inches across at the bottom. That was exciting since it dwarfed all other choices I'd seen and made it unique. However, the bag gets bigger as it goes up so it's actually just under 18 inches at the opening and down at the bottom surface it's more like 12-13". The style is similar to other purses I ordered with the nice outer extra pockets. There wasn't really anything wrong with the bag other than the deceptive measurement but there were others of this style that I liked better. Additionally, the shoulder straps were stiff and uncomfortable. However it seemed well constructed and the zippers were good and it was nice to have a big opening to see everything inside easily. I'd rate it a solid 4. Three photos attached. The second bag was the 3 piece 17.3 " and I'm keeping this one. It's not going to be for everyone but I've not owned a purse like this before and I'm liking a lot about it. Another of the purses I ordered and my first keeper that was my primary choice has a similar style to the 18 inch bag but in a pretty blue color and will be used for my everyday. But I couldn't bring myself to send this one back so I get two new bags I guess! This was a try before you buy option. I attached several pictures of this one, some showing the measurements. It's a big floppy soft leathery pouch essentially. I enjoy the way that both straps are removable. The shoulder strap is comfortable and the hole provides plenty of room so you don't have to worry about bulky clothes making it tight. You could employ a purse insert to give it more structure or just use it as a big cavernous flexible tote. It feels really nice and lightweight when I wear it, and contours to my body. This comes in at a strong 4.5. Neither of the bags had a bad or strange odor so props to the company for that because over half the ones I tried did! ... show more

Just opened the purse and the strap has pink nail polish or paint on it. I rubbed and scraped it and got some of it off. Don’t want to use nail polish remover or it will discolor the purse. Water didn’t work. I’ll keep working on it before I decide if I’m keeping it or not. Otherwise it’s a really nice purse and it’s exactly what I wanted, minus the pink nail polish. It’s very soft and big enough to hold all my stuff. The straps look to be tough enough to carry the weight that I put in my purse. I put my purses through a lot and they need to be able to handle it. I was leery of faux leather taht I couldn’t touch before buying, because often times it has a plastic feel. This bag is actually really great quality, especially for the price! It’s got a soft leather-like feel & it’s really cute! Now I just have to learn what I put in which pocket/pouch…it’s much larger than I’ve been carrying & I'm losing everything in the “abyss” of this bag! ... show more
