  • Thick, warm, soft, fits well
I bought this for a family member who has health issues and gets cold easily. We were instantly impressed by how thick, soft, and well made the product is. It is very effective at keeping him warm. He calls it "the wet suit." It's also convenient that it can be washed and dried in the machine.

  • Quality Heavyweight Thermal Underwear Set
I live in the upper Midwest and during the winter months I often spend time outdoors shoveling snow etc. and I need a good quality set of thermal underwear to get me through the cold days outside. Searching through the vast quantity of thermal underwear available on Amazon, I narrowed my search to this set of Lapasa Ultra Heavyweight Thermal Underwear. They come in a variety of colors, and I chose the Navy-Blue set. The first time I wore them I knew I found the right set. Not only are they very comfortable, but they are well insulated, warm and stretchy enough to perform physical activities in extremely cold environments. I wear size large for most clothing items, so I ordered a large set and they fit perfectly. Since this is an ultra-heavyweight set of underwear, they are probably too warm and thick for milder temperatures and physical activities but are very appropriate for extreme cold temperatures. Overall, they are a little pricey but well worth the investment. I’m very pleased with my Lapasa Ultra Heavyweight Thermal Underwear Set and recommend them to anyone searching for a high quality and comfortable set of extreme cold weather underwear. ... show more

  • You know those glasses cleaning cloths? It's like that but thicker
Much thicker at that. I received these before I had to head off to work, which was quite awesome because I didn't have to work in the outdoors for the 12 hour shift thinking of fire-places and heaters all day in the sub-zero weather. When I first put them on, they felt a bit snug, but these are a base layer, so it was to be expected, but as thick as these are compared to my waffle knit, it was something I had to get used to. I was noticing them for quite some time during my shift, but eventually grew numb to the feeling of being hugged by spandex. I felt like I was wearing a dive suit, but with a soft lining interior and fabric exterior. For the performance, they performed quite well, not quite the 3 layers of fleece blanketing next to the radiator that I was hoping for, but far exceeded wearing 2 sets of waffle knits just to put off the cold a bit longer. As I stood outside, I felt as if I should have been sipping on something from a mug clasped with both hands, but I don't really think a man should ever hold a mug with both hands ever, so I held mine with just the one. I stood outside for a good 2 hours without working up a shiver, and never even came close, I felt like i could go another 10 hours or more. I would say after 20-30 minutes, if you're not shivering, you're never going to, unless the wind is blowing... really... really... hard, or you're skydiving, which neither of those things were happening, a few gusts here and there, but these didn't break a sweat. Speaking of sweat, they do not get you really hot either, they do a fantastic job at regulating your body temperature, unless you're sitting in a heated cab, they aren't going to bake you. Some additional thoughts. I'm not going to remove a star over this, because everyone has a different shape and size. I went by the sizing guideline, and I was right there at the line of L and XL, me being 6'1" and 185lbs, my gut told me XL, but logic and research said L. I went with L. while the pants and main shirt area are just the right size, the sleeves seem to ride up my arms a bit. It feels like the sleeves came off a medium shirt while the rest were stitched as large. I have received comments on my rather long arms in the past, so it's definitely my body's problem, because for some reason, I've been given XL arms for my regular L body. If anyone want's to trade arms, let me know. ... show more

  • They are thick!
First, as the headline says, they are THICK. I've read many times that it feels like a thick wetsuit, and I would say that is close. I would also describe it as a thick, tight fitting sweatshirt. Warmth - It's strange...considering their thickness, they certainly SHOULD be warm AND THEY ARE. But for the thickness, I would have thought they'd be even warmer. I really don't think you'll be disappointed in the warmth, but if you are expecting perfect warmth, they don't quite get there. Moisture Wicking - They are warm and in fact, I found myself sweating while shoveling snow, in cold temperatures. As far as moisture wicking, in my experience so far, it doesn't wick moisture very well. By the time I got in the house, I was sweating enough that I had trouble getting them off. They were "sticky" from holding in moisture. Fit - In my opinion, they run small. They are a base layer, so you can expect them to "hug" you. They are not sweats, although they feel thick, like that. I am 6-1, 190 lbs. I ordered the Large. When you order Large, you get both the top and bottom in large. I've gotten skinnier legs, so there is no way I could wear an XL for bottoms. But I could maybe use an XL in a top. So that is something to consider. Might be nice if you could order a different size top and bottom. I have trouble removing the top. It is thick, it is tight and if you are sweating at all...it gets sticky. But remember, it is a base layer and fits a little like the compression tight fitting base layers, but extremely thick. It's thicker than UA 4.0. It's cheaper than UA 4.0. But I'm not convinced it performs better than UA 4.0. One more thing...because of the thickness if you are wearing anything over them, it will need to be a little larger outer garment. In particular, pants could be an issue if you are wearing these underneath again simply because they are so thick. ... show more

  • Nice and warm
These are the thickest long johns I've found and really good prices. Would like it more if you could mix sizes. It only gave one size option to fix both top and bottoms.

  • Cold buster
This will keep you warm! I live in San Diego CA, for the past few week, worked in Minooka IL, New Stanton PA and Silver Springs MD.. with temperatures near freezing. Did not feel the cold at all. Great buy!

  • Short sleeves.
Very warm, but damn, the sleeves are about 1.5" too short!
