These thermals are very comfortable and soft. I don't think they are any warmer than traditional long johns, but they feel amazing. They have a felt lined inner layer and slick outer layer. Makes it very easy to put other clothes on top of it without bunching up. I feel that this material will remain more elastic than your 70's long johns. Bought the blue color set after I bought the camo set. Top fits like a men's small. I'm a woman that can wear men's medium/large top and small bottoms. Athletic build. Bottoms fit a true medium. So odd that the camo set is so much (l/xl top) (bottom fits xl) bigger-baggier and I took a chance on ordering the exact same size-medium! Legs run shorter on the camo set too and I'm 32" inseam. While the quality is really good (no defect, no loose threads), my only issue is with the size. I usually wear between large and extra large. The extra large feels like a medium. It still fits, and will work since it's direct on the body, but it will not be comfortable. Would buy again, but would order an XXL, which I have never wore before, and even then, not convince it would be what I'm looking for, size wise. ... show more
