I don't like leaving reviews- and I hate ordering from the smile company in general- but this phone case needs a review. I purchased this after I DESTROYED my last Pixel while paddleboarding. To that point, I'd never had an issue getting my phone wet (i've learned my lesson) and decided to look into actual waterproof options. This case has protected my phone from sand, water, scratches, paint, drops, falls, and downright rage. I've been STUNNED at the falls this phone has taken against a number of different surfaces. It's been dropped into rivers attached to a board tether. If you're trying to protect your gear, this is the phone case for you. THAT BEING SAID--- this case does impact the sound quality and picture quality. It's an all-enclosed unit and the camera cover does get foggy after a while. I'm thinking about replacing mine soon since the front camera cover has become a little scratched and dented - but if you are not concerned about that, this case should last you a very long time. I've been using it as my daily phone protector since June of 2025 and it's now February of 2026. It has ONLY just occurred to me to replace it because the front camera has a hard time focusing due to all of the sand I've likely gotten on it. The case itself, as long as it's securely closed and the charger port cover is intact (it has NEVER come close to falling off or breaking) will protect your phone. ... show more

This case is amazing! Dropped my phone (while in this case) into 3 ft of lake water. It was submerged for 30+ minutes before it was found. NOT A DROP of water got through and my phone was still working!! I couldn't believe it. I could not locate/ping my phone while it was submerged. And the case does not float, but the fact that my phone was dry and working was impressive!! Highly recommend if you're spending time on the water! ... show more

I highly recommend you buy this case I have already dropped my phone from 10 ft of a ladder on to the sidewalk and have absolutely no damage.     • Check The Box For Many Small Pages of Instruction!

The install was difficult because the instructions are split between multiple small pieces of paper, with no indication that they are continued. There was a small row of round stickers that were labeled as being used to remove the protective covering, complete with a picture of the case and the protective layer being removed attached to each one. There was also one attached to the inside of the case, which lead me to believe that there was a protective coating inside. Removing that sticker left a ton of residue, and it wasn't until I was done cleaning it off that the third instruction sheet fell out telling me that I was supposed to apply that directly to my phone's fingerprint reader. So I then applied another one of those little round stickers, removed the backing, and stuck my phone in. Sure enough, the fingerprint reader did not work at all with that sticker. I then scraped the second sticker off, threw away that useless third set of instructions, and put the phone case together. It's all a bit smeary now in the sun because of those stupid stickers, but it all works now. I'll just have to open it up again at some point and clean up again. In the meantime it is still a good case, and since I scraped off that sticker the fingerprint reader works just fine, but I'm giving it 4 stars because it took me an hour to get through the install. I think I bought this past November and it's still holding very well on my phone. It feels very safe. I've dropped my phone a few times and everything is still intact. This is a very sturdy case and I don't have to worry about a thing. I like that the plug Port even closes too! I don't need an extra screensaver because it's already built in with the case. Ok so I'm going to start this by saying I don't use the fingerprint reader so I'm not sure of how well it works. Personally I think it's flawed even without the case. But this case. I really think people don't look at the real benefits. It FULLY protects your phone. I'm able to clean off whatever ends up on the case without damaging my phone and it can even take on water as it fully seals. I wouldn't risk fully submerging it though. For the price it really doesn't get any better. I think the only reason the price is so low is because on full volume it will echo inside the phone and ends up more of a low speaker phone setting. Keeping the volume halfway fixed this for me. Other than that this case is great and I will continue to purchase cases from this company throughout my future phones. (This is my 3rd by the way) ... show more

    • Nothing but problems

I bought this because my toddler likes to throw people their items instead of handing them and I've replaced my phone twice because of this. When the case arrived it seemed like it would be absolutely wonderful. Great material, very clear instructions, amazing seal all the way around. However, I've had the case on my phone for just under 1 month. Since having it on, my phone has refused to charge 6-7 different times for 5+ hours each time due to "debris or liquid" being detected. This was never an issue prior to the case, I didn't even know my phone had a sensor for that. I will say it has been EXTREMELY humid where I live for the last few weeks as well so there is a small possibility the liquid is condensation on the charger being introduced to the port when I plug it in. I've never had that issue before having the case though. I removed the case for the last 4 days and it has not had the charging issue but I have no definitive way of knowing so I thought I would share my experience for others to be aware of. Despite this issue, I have not found a better, more durable case anywhere and for only $20ish I think it's worth the risk. ... show more

    • Not as durable as others but mostly transparent
As always, when I get a new phone the VERY FIRST THING I do is put it in a rugged case; seriously, right out of the package! With the Pixel 8 Pro my options were oddly limited as almost every case was either pitch black (I lose my phones too often) or not rugged. Even companies I've liked before like Supcase & even OtterBox only offers cases in tactical black (or dark blue). After a LOT of searching I finally settled on this, despite the mixed reviews. Having owned this now for 3 months I can give a good review. First, & importantly, this isn't nearly as tough as those other cases I mentioned. This scared me! However the P8P is itself tougher than it's predecessors so it's less important. As for being waterproof I don't know & haven't tried it. I CAN tell you that the USB port cover doesn't seem like it will handle too many opening cycles; fortunately the case works with the new (2nd generation) Pixel Charger Stand (which has issues of its own) so 99% of the time I'm wirelessly charging the phone & keeping it fully sealed; however, a real Apple mag safe charger puck wouldn't stay attached through the case. As for laying it down, it depends because the P8P's cameras just out the back, something the Pixel Stand takes into account but other chargers can't. The back is made of the same medium thickness clear plastic as the front, so you can actually see the back of the phone: this is the only "rugged" case I know of that's mostly transparent! It's not TPU so dropping it on something hammer size that isn't stopped by the edges may damage the phone. This also gives a rather cheap & tacky look up close, if that's important to you, and attracts fingerprints; you don't have to worry about damaging the phone cleaning then off though! For the hard core camera nuts, the case plastic covers all the lenses unlike most other cases if you need to take a really good picture you'll have to clean it first, however I haven't had a problem. This also renders the IR thermometer useless (you see the plastic's temp instead). Other reviews have some owners cutting out those holes but you'll lose the water / dust "proofing". I have other far more useful IR thermometers anyway. Overall I'm happy with this case: several drops have yielded no obvious damage (I've got real butter fingers). It's not safe against sharp objects & I can't speak of water proofing but others have. I'd probably buy it again. Almost forgot: it has a lanyard. This is useful for hanging it on lots of things but not wide enough for theater seat arm rests. ... show more
