Excellent aerator and first rate customer care. First, this is by far the best manual lawn aerator available and its one-piece design makes a difficult job more manageable. Other aerators I’ve purchased in the past had fatal flaws and were either not effective and/or broke after several uses. This aerator is solidly built and has the weight to withstand the rigors of penetrating compacted soil over and over again. I recommend getting the combo version with spiked and hollow tines as the spiked tines work best to loosen the soil in heavily compacted areas first before using the hollow tines. Also Landzie stands behind their products 100%. One of the spiked tines I received wasn’t bored out enough to fit on the aerator’s attachment nodes so I contacted Landzie and they immediately sent me a full set of replacement tines. Manual aeration is no easy task under any circumstances but if you choose to go that route this is your tool. I selected and purchased this aerator myself so this review is my own.

Size: Hollow Tine Aerator
This is significantly better than the two prong hand aerators. This tool is better built, creates larger plug holes and the open tine design ejects plugs and not clogging up like the cheaper tools. I a dense clay area I needed to move the aerator side to side to work it through the turf and soil. I’m confident water will now get deeper and keep the grass from burning out in the summer heat.

Works well! But, it is a workout! I’m in decent shape and do workout/run regularly and if I would have done my whole yard in one go it would have been exhausting. But, I only did various areas combined that needed it, to about ~1000sq ft. I’m 6ft and weight 225lbs and all tines held up well. Ground must be recently watered though or this would be tough to do on dry or caliche ground. I’m pretty athletic and found that if I hopped on it like a pogo stick with both feet it seemed to be easier than bearing down with only one leg after a prolonged time of using. Would not be safe though with someone not as agile or with poor balance and attempting this technique I was using. Another thing is please don’t try to do this with flip flops as my wife did. Ridiculous! Wear boots or tennis shoes. Overall, good product ! Would diff recommend! Love that you can replace tines if needed. But, they are solid and think this tool will last awhile if not lifetime. Other thing I might add is I prefer the 3 tines. I found it easier to get into tight areas. Made it easy to use! Glad I purchased this instead of renting a machine.

Would be 5 stars if this dude would work itself. Bhahahahah. Seriously well built! Would def recommend. It’s hard work, to aerate so be ready to do small areas at a time. Don’t be trying to do your whole yard. I was full body sweating after a hour of cooking! This really for tough compacted spots in local areas. I waited after light rain to break my Lanzie out. Worked so good. Hollow tines work well to extract compacted soil. After I got done, I cleared out the tines with a screwdriver. SOLID unit ya’ll.

Joe from the team personally followed up, offered a full refund, and also sent me improved prototype tines to try out. They genuinely listened, explained helpful tips for clay soil treatment, and are clearly committed to improving their product. So I had 4XCABG surgery last April and was looking for something to help get me moving again the following March. Boy this little device did exactly that and my gorgeous lawn is a testament to that fact. I live near a lake and have clay for soil. Have tried doing things the "easy way" and just sprayed or broadcast various products looking for that lush green lawn I knew was hiding under all of that clay to no lasting avail. After getting my Landzie I went out everyday for a week and spent hours carefully aerating my clay. People walked by and asked me what the heck I was doing, would comment, shrug and walk off thinking that crazy ol' man is gonna kill himself tearing up his yard. I kept pluggin away though. There wasn't an area of the yard that didnt have a hole every four inches. Once finished with the plugs I broadcast some biochar and let that sit while it rained. I was worried that my efforts were going to be for naught as we also happened to get a pretty rough hail storm as I imagined $80 worth of product washing away and a weeks worth of holes being filled in. Upon review after the storm my holes were still there...not so sure about the biochar but was hoping some got caught in holes before washing away. The plugs were no longer to be found though so after drying out I continued my "exercises" and over seeded the clay and fertilized my yard. It was a long 4 weeks as I watched my yard get over run by weeds. Thought I had really screwed things up as now I had a clay yard with holes, weeds, and was the laughing stock of the neighborhood but I endeavored to persevere. After letting the weed jungle go I hiked up the mower from previous scalping earlier that year (before starting the process) and gave my weeds a good choppin. The next week I put down a weed and feed and let things sit. Well it's now Mother's Day and we have the greenest most plush lawn in the entire subdivision and it all started with this awesome Landzie I got at the end of Feb. When it first arrived I tightened up the screws holding the hollow tines and then sprayed the inside of tines with WD-40. When I left mud in them at the end of the day it was easy to remove the following morning with a screw driver. The Landzie also came with some Yard Jart type spikes but I have not used those yet. This fall I plan to do it all again as the results from this spring's efforts was nothing short of phenomenal. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good activity that will also help beautify your lawn beyond your expectations. Have also spot treated some low lying areas that were a bit slow to grow and some bare areas in shade around some trees and am now growing grass where there was only bare dirt/clay before. For anyone wondering my strength and muscle stamina has improved to the point I feel better than I have in years. Get outside if you can, enjoy the work, the weather, and fruits of your labor. As a side benefit which was completely unexpected my crepe myrtles and other trees have not bloomed and looked this good in years and I truly believe my Landzie made all the difference.

Heavy duty "Get r done' tool. I was surprised how well this went into the ground. I started with the Spikes, and thought they might be too big, Nope! Simple to use and leaves some good size holes, perfect for breaking up hard areas that grass doesn't grow well. Takes a little elbow grease, but works well and is built like a tank!
