I loved the color and matte texture however this lipstick made my lips so dry that they became chapped and I had to stop using and apply a deep lip moisturizer to repair my lips. Will not use again.

This comes in a nice outer product box. It’s made in France. Ingredients are listed. It does contain talc (5th ingredient), silicones, and paraffin if those are an issue. It comes in a beautiful component. It’s black plastic. It has a nice weight to it. The top has the Lancôme rose symbol in gold. You push down on that and the bottom pops out. It’s a nice feature to keep the top from accidentally coming off in your bag/purse. I got the shade “510 Divine Idylle,” which was described as a “Warm Peachy Nude.” I got it because it looked similar to my usual lip color. I wanted something that would look natural on the lips. This is a matte lipstick. It claims to be made with pure pigments for an intense crisp color and enriched with luxurious rose extracts for lasting comfort and ceramides for hydration. I personally don’t usually go for matte lips. I HATE when my lips feel dry. But, this claimed to be comfortable, hydrating, and lightweight and to be a soft matte, so I figured I’d give it a try! However, I was a little confused by their description for it because the middle of the product page had a comparison of the different formulas (“Find Your Perfect Lipstick”) and for the “L’Absolu Drama Matte” (which is this one) it said the finish is “extremely matte,” texture is “powdery matte lipstick,” with “maximum” coverage, and results are “long wearing and lasting comfort.” That all seemed to fit the descriptions the rest of the product page had except for the part about it being “extremely matte” since it had otherwise been described as “soft matte.” On the other hand, the “L’Absolu Rouge Intimatte,” the finish is “soft matte,” texture is “creamy matte lipstick,” Coverage is “medium to high,” and results are “comfortable.” So I was hoping it would work for me and not look or feel too dry. When I first opened the lipstick, I could immediately see it was matte. I got a little worried how it would apply. It felt kind of dry going on and didn’t glide on the lips as easily as I would hope. But, it did give nice opaque pigment and the coverage was even and not patchy. If I apply a very thin layer of this on my lips, then it looks nice and doesn’t look too dry. It doesn’t feel hydrating but feels comfortable on the lips (which is saying a lot for me since I hate my lips feeling dry in any way!). It didn’t smudge or transfer at all. It lasted well. It faded as I ate and drank, but faded nicely without looking odd or uneven like some matte lips can. However, if I applied too much of this, it looked extremely heavy and dry on the lips. It also felt pretty dry. Again, it lasted nicely. It just looked and felt heavy and dry on the lips. But, the pigment of the lipstick is good and opaque, so it really doesn’t take much. It’s easy to do a nice, thin layer of this and get good, even, opaque color and coverage. I’m not sure if other colors would be different. But, for this color, a nice thin layer is all that’s needed for me and it feels comfortable on the lips and looks good. Overall, I actually really like this formula. I’m personally someone who feels there’s some things that I just don’t need to spend more than drugstore prices on, and lip products are among those. There’s just so many amazing drugstore priced options that I never feel the need to pay higher prices for lip products. But, I don’t have many matte lips I really enjoy wearing. So, this is something I’ll continue to use and wouldn’t mind purchasing other shades in. If you’re looking for a matte lip that has opaque color, even coverage, and feels comfortable on the lips without looking dry or heavy, then I’d recommend trying this. I’d just recommend being careful not too apply too much because then I found it looked and felt heavy and dry. What I tried: Lancôme L'Absolu Rouge Drama Matte Long-Lasting Lipstick - Hydrating - 12HR Wear- Divine Idylle. This lipstick is a must-have for all the below reasons and more! What I love: 1. Lancome lipstick glides on easily, has great matte finish, is the absolute perfect finish for fuller lips. 2. My shade was a fantastic daytime neutral, kind of a peachy brown, but fit in perfectly with my ivory skin tone, so I have been able to wear this every day to work. 3. Impressed with how light the formula felt on my lips once applied…I hardly realize I am wearing a lipstick. Plus it is nicely pigmented, allowing good saturation of color when applied. 4. There were no strong scents to the lipstick, which is perfect for people who are scent-sensitive, and had no strange “after-taste” when applied or while wearing. 5. For me, this seemed moisturizing, and lasted throughout most of the morning, (7 to noon) which works for me, because I like to “freshen up” my color after lunch time anyways. (I work in a school and have breakfast and lunch with students, so your mileage may vary.) It being moisturizing and having a natural feel is more important to me than any other features of a lipstick, but that is just my personal preference. 6. The case is fantastic. Loved the style and feel of it. It is easy to hold and You push embossed rose at the top of the case “button”, and the lipstick case is released, allowing you to pull out the embossed gold cylinder that encases the lipstick, allowing you to access the lipstick easily. Never had the chance to try a case this fancy before, and loved the concept and execution. It has a solid feel and definitely had no issues with the case opening up in my purse. Product remained closed and intact when not in use, which was great! Presentation is everything, and this presentation does not disappoint! I highly recommend this lipstick. There are a variety of shades to appeal to all skin shades, so loving the diversity that this brand offers. I hadn’t tried Lancome until the last few weeks, and have been very impressed with all of the products that I have been able to try. The products seem to be in the price point I would pay for typically so I found them definitely found them a good value for the quality and fantastic experience with the product. Good luck and hope your experience is just as amazing as mine has been with Lancome’s Matte Long-Lasting Lipstick too!

This was a very beautiful shade of lip stick on my wife. My wife only wears lip stick on big occasions so to see her in this shade was a nice touch. It worked with her creamy white skin and it lasted most of the wedding we were attending.
