They're soft and do the trick for polishing, with or without a compound. Do be sure to brush, shake, and otherwise remove loose fibers before polishing, especially if using a compound. They shed quite a bit, at first, and I figured that out the hard way.

Great, very soft lambs wool. Very well constructed and holds up to use. These pads aren't a dense short nap but rather a longer, softer nap. Used with a cutting pasted to knock down orange peel and minor surface scuffing. Left a great finish, ready for polish. These sheepskin polishing pads work awesome. I just finished a complete polish and ceramic seal on my large RV. I had purchased other pads when starting this project but soon learned not every pad is equal. Those other pads only lasted a day or two. They would separate from the velcro backing. Once I got these pads, no problems - they worked great to finish this massive undertaking. The velcro backing held up great and the wool fibers did their job and cleaned up perfectly. These are good quality auto polish pads at an ok price for the pack of 4. I go through about 4 of these a year using them for final wax polishing on our vehicles, and do buy them often. The last few times bought them for less, but these appear to be identical to all my others. I used one this past weekend for a detail on our Subaru Outback and it performed as well as all others Ive purchased. Like any such pad they do start to load up with finish about time the vehicle is finished, BUT they do clean easily. I normally way by hand using simple green and a hose. I want to use these on my car but need to get it cleaned first of the salt from the snow. On first inspection they are soft, there is some extra fluff that the company says is normal. I attached one pad to my oscillator sander and it grip well. I hope the pads help with my rusting car paint to prep it for a touch up. ... show more

These are nice wool polishing pads for use on painted surfaces, countertops or most any hard glossy type surface. I find it helpful to vacuum these pads before first use to remove any loose fibers. I have not attempted to wash a pad yet so I cannot speak to how they stand up to washing. Some wool pads can be washed and others do not hold up as well. My only negative with these pads are that the loop backing on the pads are quite fine. With this in mind I am not sure how many on/offs before the loops become weakened or torn to the point that the pad will not stay fixed in place. ... show more
