Hey all, so yeah great product and color is awesome! I read on here that the cap wasn't the greatest. And when I got it I could see why. So I think I have a good solution for some of you. This is what I did. I went to my local backpacking store and found a new cap. A super durable and strong one that eliminates the cross threading issue. The cap I bought for 6 bucks was from MSR or mountain safety research. It fit perfectly and seals with a nice thicker oring! The specific name of the cap is " expedition fuel bottle cap by msr" it is grey and freaking rocks. As for the bottle it too rocks. Did notice not keeping things cools for too long issue too but heck it took my out of the tap cold water three hours to be at room temp. So if you're actually on the trail. Water is water right. When you're thirsty it always refreshing. Hope this helps some of y'all. Am definitely going to buy a second bottle. I got the 50 oz. In the picture I used a 1 liter or 32oz nalgene to compare. I love this bottle. My boyfriend kept complaining that I either bought water bottles everyday or reused the plastic one and consume all the bad chemicals, but I really wanted a bottle that could hold up to 1L or more. Voila! I bought the bright red color and I love it. Mine holds 1.5L which I like even more. It's perfect.     • Yes, the bottle is worth it.
My intended purpose for this item is a "go bag". It will not be used daily as water bottle but rather as a container for water purification and whatever. From the looks of it, the bottle will do well. The bottle is well made and seals well. It is single wall so it will not work as a thermos. The one thing that I will say that could be a negative for some folks - the threads on the cap are pretty fine so you will need to pay attention when you screw the cap back in. From previous experience with other brands I will offer this tip - screw the bottle onto the cap. Stick your finger thru the loop in the cap and hold it. Screw the bottle onto the cap. It works... This is the second time I ordered these, and I use them with my reverse osmosis system to eliminate buying bottled water and plastic waste. I keep 8 of them in the fridge so I only have to wash weekly. Had them for several years before I dented one by dropping it on concrete to the point it was super wobbly on the bottom so I had to replace it. Others are dented but holding up well, including the paint. Replacing another one that had a small crack in paint until it got run through a hot dishwasher. That one has some paint bubbling and a bit sharp edged at the paint crack, but paint is still not peeling off. The only time they've leaked is if the lid isn't on quite right. It will screw on crooked and leak, and while I worried the threads on the caps would get damaged from that, they are still in great shape. If lid isn't spinning on with a light touch I know to check alignment and adjust it. Overall very happy. ... show more

It is a nice sized, well made bottle made of aluminum, a metal. The lid, however, is made of a soft plastic, with shallow threads. When I first opened it and felt the soft lid, I thought: (i) How long until this soft plastic thread will be ruined and (ii) how much and how hard will it be to get a replacement. In my kids hands, the lids did not last more than a few months, and I am now looking for how to find the new lids. It is designed to failed. Sad. ... show more

Only had it a few weeks and the cap wont screw on tight anymore and leaks. The bottle is nice, wont keep what you have in it hot and cold for too long but its ok. Now i have to get a different bottle all because the stupid cap is stripped and wont tighten.

Bottle is light and tough and has handled countless drops onto concrete pavement. Water doesn't have a weird taste after sitting in the bottle for a few hours which is great. My only issue with this is the twisting cap. If you're not extremely careful while twisting the cap into the bottle it screws in at a slight angle, leaving a barely visible gap between the cap and the bottle. That small gap is enough to allow all the water to leak out and cause havoc inside your bag. ... show more

    • Pretty good for a $10 bottle
I had used plastic water bottles for the past 10 years or so. I should have gotten a metal water bottle way sooner to cut down on my plastic use... better late than never. This bottle works just fine for me. It holds a bit more liquid than other bottles which seem to hold 17 oz standard. The metal finish is nice and smooth. No dents yet. A couple cautions. The cap requires a lot of turning before it's tightly on. It's kind of inconvenient, but this seems to be a common drawback of metal water bottles. Also, the cap needs to be on tight, otherwise it'll leak pretty easily; however, once it's tight, it doesn't leak at all. ... show more
