I thought that would be an issue, however after installing it and using for several months now I can say with 100% certainly that I made the CORRECT decision and it definitely is not a problem!! One of the rubber diaphragms in my Optima pump failed after 18 months of use. This repair kit was easy to install and I was impressed at the high quality of the Optima pump internals. I have many pumps and have rebuilt many of them. This one was quick and easy. One star deducted for the pump failing so quickly, I have Tetras still going after 3 years. Our fish pond air pump was making a terrible noise and running poorly. After researching options, we decided to order this part for less than one-third the price of a new pump. It was relatively easy to take the pump apart, remove the old part and install this new part. Now it seems the pump runs quieter than it did when we first purchased it and has excellent air output. Fits the old, discontinued Hagen Optima pumps I have (A-807). Nice that they're still available but cost considerably more than they used to even accounting for inflation.

My laguna air pump (made by optima model PT1630) was not working well. Opened it up and found torn diaphragm. This laguna repair module was easy to replace and saved me $$ from not having to buy a new pump. It didn't come with any warranty. Lets see how long it lasts.

Was about to replace my crappy Optima pump when I saw this replacement cartridge pop up, glad I saw it. Easy to install and the pump works like new again. The circular black rubber diaphragms on each side of the pump are what go bad, too bad they don't sell just those.

Was about to purchase a new pond aerator till I stumbled across this repair module for my current one. Was easy to replace and now the aerator works just like the day I bought it. Saved me from spending money on a new one and couldn't be happier with the results.
