Ordered the light grey but upon arriving and washing (by themselves with a dye free natural detergent) they come across on the cool side and look more like a light blue or periwinkle up against my bright white duvet.     • Great for hot sleepers

I had always been disappointed in my bed sheets. After doing a lot of research, I learned that most bed sheets aren't breathable. Manufacturers aim for a soft-feeling sheet and/or a high thread count to drive sales... both of which usually come at the cost of breathability. So a cotton percale's 200 or 300 threads might seem low. But they are much more comfortable because they are cool, breathable, and wick moisture. Sateen sheets are great if you're a cool sleeper, but if you find yourself trapped in "hot pockets" or sweat in your sleep, try a cotton percale. These also haven't stained on me. They don't feel coarse, they are decently soft. The word "crisp" is close, but they aren't crunchy like an overly starched shirt or anything. ... show more

I searched all over the internet for 100% cotton full size sheets in purple. There's many shades of purple out there. The most vibrant are the synthetics, I was sad about that. Because in the sewing world, there are beautiful vibrant shades of every color but somehow that know-how is forbidden to 100% cotton sheet makers. Anyway, my purple sheet order came in, I was happy with the color - red violet purple, like the pansy flower. The material is thin and rough and stitching is loose. It comes out of the plastic box smelly and no stains, bugs, tears, or holes, I immediately washed separately with a small cup of soap, white vinegar and hot water to get the smells out. Vinegar also sets the color, because these sheets might be washed with my other darks, but it may also keeps them from bleeding the purple color into the wash. No fabric softener was used, and they're thin, drying time was reduced (only good point). They came out of the dryer rough, but smelling clean. I imagine that only time will soften the sheets. I'd recommend washing separately in a gentler cycle than what's used for bulky items to keep them from tearing or fraying. They do come out of the dryer wrinkled as heck, but who's looking when you're asleep or not giving house tours. Get out your iron, turn on the TV to that movie you've been wanting to watch and iron away, if wrinkled sheets really bug you. Note: I did buy a purple print (red and blue violet purple) sheet set from Laura Ashley, 100% cotton percale and they are they softest sheets bought after I did the same procedure, are thicker in comparison and not as wrinkled, or it could be because they're a print that the wrinkles are not as noticeable. Much, much happier with Laura Ashley's than Lacroste's quality. ... show more

exactly as expected for quality percale sheets. washed in cold water on gentle cycle, tumble dried low with 2 dryer sheets, and removed immediately from dryer. came out softer after wash than right out of the box. percale needs a few washes to break in and soften the fabric. slight wrinkles as expected with 100% cotton, but nothing crazy. sheets are soft and cool. very breathable without being flimsy. these sheets are 200 thread count, which is where percale should be. hot sleepers may have trouble with higher thread count percales. my only qualm is the alligator logo on the pillow case -it's a bit distracting. Also wish the flat sheet had a wider folded hem at the top like standard sheets. all in all happy purchase ... show more

I love this set of sheets. Nice and crispy. The only negative thing I can think of is that the color is too light. I’d like them in purple but they charge more for them. They wash and dry real nice also.
