I used the same skincare brand for decades, but recently decided to try something different. I'd heard good things about La Roche-Posay, so I decided to give this cleanser a try. For about twenty bucks, this is an incredible value. It lathers so well that, unless I'm removing a lot of makeup, a pea-sized amount is plenty. The leak-proof dispenser is precise enough to get such a small amount, too. It's fragrance-free and rinses perfectly clean without the tight, stripped feeling some cleansers leave behind. I use a prescription retinoid, so my skin can sometimes be a little sensitive, but this cleanser is gentle and leaves it feeling clean and well hydrated. This is a 400 mL bottle, so I imagine it will last a very long time. I highly recommend it not only as a gentle cleanser for sensitive skin, but as a gentle, foaming makeup remover. This is my second bottle and my go to cleanser! I use it as the first step of my double cleanse and also to remove makeup. One wash is usually enough to remove makeup and sunscreen before the rest of my routine. I have sensitive acne prone and eczema prone skin, so I am very careful about cleansers. This one is fragrance free, foams immediately you rub it on wet skin and does not leave my skin feeling dry and never gives me that tight stripped feeling after washing. It cleanses thoroughly while still being gentle on my skin barrier and my skin loves it! A little goes a long way and one bottle lasts me around six months, making it a great value for the price honestly! I have also had great experiences with other La Roche Posay products including the Lipikar Triple Repair Cream and the syndet wash for my eczema since over 4 years ago so this was another product I could trust from the brand.     • Finally a Cleanser That Doesn’t Trigger My Breakouts

I've been using this facewash twice a day for about a month now and out of all the cleansers I've tried this is definitely one of the few that have not made my acne worse. Usually my skin reacts within a week or two of trying new products but with this product it remained calm while still providing assistance for excess oil and little breakouts on my face. After cleansing with this product, it leaves my skin feeling clean but without that "overdried" feeling which is something that very rarely happens for me. The texture of the product is a thin gel that foams easily after using only a small amount, and it will rinse off completely and leave no residue behind when you're done using it. The product has no noticeable scent and feels extremely gentle even on days when my skin is more irritated or sensitive. The price of this product is slightly higher than some of the other basic drugstore cleansers, but the amount of time I have been able to use this product has been remarkable. If you're someone who wears heavy makeup on a daily basis, you may think that this product is not strong enough or you may feel like it's too gentle; however, it has proven to be a reliable and low-maintenance product for anyone with acne prone/sensitive skin types. ... show more

    • A Former Holy Grail That No Longer Fits My Skincare Goals

For a long time, this was one of my favorite cleansers. I’ve gone through multiple bottles over the years, and there was a period when I recommended it to almost everyone looking for a gentle, reliable face wash. One of the things I still like about it is the cleansing experience itself. The texture is pleasant, it foams well, and it leaves my skin feeling clean without feeling stripped. For those reasons alone, I understand why it remains so popular. I also appreciated that it fit well into my fungal acne-safe routine. Finding products that don’t create additional problems can be challenging, and this cleanser consistently felt safe and predictable for my skin. The reason I’m no longer repurchasing it has less to do with the cleanser itself and more to do with my current skincare goals. At this point, I’m actively focused on reducing acne, improving skin texture, and fading post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. When I look back on my experience with this cleanser, I can’t honestly say it helped move the needle on any of those concerns. That’s not necessarily a criticism, because cleansers aren’t always designed to be treatment products. But after years of use, I realized I was reaching for it out of habit rather than because it was producing meaningful results. If you’re looking for a gentle, dependable cleanser with a nice lather, I still think this is a solid option. But if you’re hoping your cleanser will noticeably improve acne, dark spots, or overall skin appearance, my experience suggests you’ll likely need other products in your routine to accomplish those goals.
