I purchased this gown for a little boy in a neonatal intensive care unit. It is a good quality fabric. It's a cute pattern and washes up beautifully. There are a generous number of front buttons making it really easy to slide the gown onto him by placing his feet first into the neck and button opening. Easy on. Easy off. This generous button opening and the open bottom end of the gown allow for easy access to medical equipment on his body and diaper changes. The gown was large for a premature baby, but he is growing into it nicely. And it is a blessing for Mom to see him with clothes on, instead of only seeing medical equipment.

Does it run small? Yup. So order up! I ordered the newborn size in the mauve stripe. Shipping was way fast, faster than some Prime items in the same order. But the real treat was pulling this out and imagining how cozy my daughter will be in it! Soft, well-made, and adorable, for starters. The fabric is so much nicer than what you get with your average super-store and department store brands (you know the ones). My teen daughter exclaimed that the new baby now had better clothes than she does, and my teen has quite the wardrobe! This is a beautiful piece, something special for a special little one. A little one who will absolutely have it in some larger sizes. ***Update*** This was such a nice piece, heavy and luxurious, that when I needed a baby gift for one of those people who will get dozens of baby gifts, I came straight back to L'oved Baby. Mama was thrilled with the purchase, and says this is one of the things she uses most frequently. It has been through the wash "many times", and has held up beautifully. Unfortunately, the one I bought for my child remains unused in a box tucked away upstairs... so I can't speak to that personally, but wanted to update the review from my friend's use.

I was desperately hoping this would fit my 6 month old as 0-3 months is the largest size the gown comes in, and it does! My child is in the 50-75% in height, but below 3 in weight and weight compared to height, so hopefully that helps. You can see it even has a little length and width to spare in the arms, but is too short to make use of the fold-over mittens. I believe shrinkage did occur even after washing according to instructions, so 21" is the final length, 9.25" across the chest and 7" arm length. The elastic opening is the perfect size. The neck opening could be a little smaller, especially with all the stretching that takes place when the little one tries to crawl around and bare feet stick to the inside of the gown. The buttons at the top provide a more than sufficient opening for putting the gown on. The fabric is luxurious, and though not *extremely* soft, I would not change that about it. The colour is a little duller than the screen would make you think but still pleasing. There is a bit of thread coming loose, but that it to be expected even with hand made items.

L'ovedbaby Unisex-Baby Organic Cotton Gown, Slate Stripe, 0/3 Months Ordered for gifts before birth so have not washed nor used. CONS: I ordered 7 of these L'ovedbaby Unisex Baby Organic Cotton Gowns 0-3m in 4 solid colors, 2 striped, and one wagon print. They all were marked the same size but in fact were not the same size. All the striped gowns were smaller, narrower, and longer than the solid color gowns. One striped gown arm was longer than the other arm. Two striped gowns had stitching defects on the sleeves in the fold-over cuff area. Instead of a smooth, even neckline when top snap is snapped, ALL but 1 gown was uneven at the top snap, with the snap side higher than the other. The higher side will rub/irritate the baby's neck. I was only able to keep 1 out of the 6 ordered due to poor arm stitching and uneven neckline quality control issues. The elastic seems a little tight so I am going to remove the elastic and add a single-center snap closure instead. I returned and reordered 5 gowns. I hope the gowns sent this time are keepable. UPDATE: The gowns run very narrow, and not easy to get on and off. The elastic at the bottom is tight so not easy to work with. PROS: I love the colors and prints, thicker fabric, and style of this gown. These gowns are darling, especially with the matching caps. but be prepared to return for quality control issues before you even get to use them.

The newborn size of this gown is very tiny. The length of the gown is the same for the newborn and 0-3 month size. The width of the newborn is much more narrow. I actually like the newborn size for my newborns. I have such a hard time finding clothes small enough for a 6/7 lb. baby. These are actually newborn sized. The 0-3 months will also fit a newborn, just with a little more roominess in the width at first.

We’ve loved these gowns for each of our babies; they’re now a must for our hospital stays. However this time around, for our 3rd, the color I ordered did not arrived as expected. I ordered Eggplant but it is more of a muddy purple. Definitely not the rich, deep purple I was going for. Debating whether to replace with the Lavender or go with another brand altogether this time. We were pretty disappointed when we opened the package this time.

I selected "fit as expected" because i had to choose one in order to write a review. Granted, I have not delivered yet so I am not sure if this will indeed fit. I am VERY glad i read reviews first though and ordered the 0-3 month for my newborn because it is very small and there is no way a normal sized newborn baby would be able to fit into something smaller. The material is VERY soft, thick, and looks great. However, upon JUST receiving it in the mail I have already had to trim off SOOOOOO MANY loose ends of threading ALL over this gown, it's a little ridiculous. This gown is intended for first day visits and pictures and lots of public postings where I am certain I won't want to crop out the pieces of thread hanging all over the place. So if you're looking for something to arrive and be flawless and ready to go, I would not say this is your best bet. If you could care less about threads here and there or a fear of the delicateness of this gown not withstanding much life throw's its' way then this is the gown for you!
