I truly didn't know what to expect of this. But I always want to try new products, and this sounded pretty intriguing. I didn't really know what it was going to be like, or how I was going to use it. Upon receiving it, I was even more unsure, but the first time I tried it, I loved it and all confusion was cleared up! You really could used this product in several different ways, which is the beauty of it. It can be applied as sheerly as you like, but it also can produce pretty nice coverage. This will not be a full coverage foundation. Of course, it is marketed as a serum, so you wouldn't expect to. But I do use it as a foundation. I have pretty good skin and not a lot to cover. You could use this sheerly, as a skin care/primer layer under your normal foundation. You can wear it on its own, layering it as you wish for your desired level of light to medium coverage. I put on a layer of it (always using my fingers, I tried other methods, but since this is a serum meant for skin, care that didn't make much sense to me, and I really found fingers worked best anyhow), then put a bit more on my nose and chin, where I need more coverage. Then I put some concealer/corrector under my eyes. I could leave it at that if I wished. You might want to, depending on the finish you want and whether or not you are someone who needs to use powder. The finish on its own is beautiful. Natural, a tiny bit dewy but not greasy at all. But I just can't stand not using powder, so I powder. Doing that, my face looks great all day. I don't have that made-up look that foundation can sometimes give you. This is lighter, more natural looking. I bought the lightest color. The color foundation I buy varies on the brand. Some brands I need the lightest, but most often it is the second or third lightest. I would say I am fair to light, and this lightest shade works perfectly. I think this product will fit a bit of range of tones and shades, thus the limited product range. You don't need an exact match. I suggest you go to the L'Oreal site to help you pick which to order if you are questioning it, you might get a better idea there. ... show more

I ordered a similar product from another brand that also has a sunscreen in it and I didn't like it. The sunscreen made the product all chalky and streaky and tough to apply so I was looking for alternates. I found several designer label brands and only one good drugstore brand. I went with the drugstore brand - L'Oreal. Compared to the other options this one is great! It layers well over my sunscreen and the color options are narrow but the sheerness allows for a lot of skintones and shades. This applies pretty well with a hybrid foundation brush but it DOES STREAK. So you'll probably want to tap over the streaks with a damp sponge. I don't recommend applying this product with a sponge because it is runny and the sponge will absorb a lot of product which will cost you more money. You can also apply with your fingers. I don't but that's only because I don't like that method of application. But if you do like it - go with it. The product isn't likely to streak from your fingers but it definitely will with a brush. The only thing I don't like about this product is the packaging. It's a disaster; a complete mess. So if you decide you like this foundation I recommend ordering a replacement pump for other foundations and using it on this product so you can avoid the mess that you'll get when you try to insert the dropper back in the tube. This is the absolute best skin tint ever!! I use this product every day, and my skin feels so much more moisturized! Coverage is buildable & good. My only complaint, is that it shows all my texture & settles into fine lines. I exfoliate & moisturize very well every day, so that is not the issue. Will still be on the hunt for a skin tint that is more like my skin & less patchy.

I'm in my 60's and as such, do not wear heavy foundation because of all the fissures on my face( we are past calling wrinkles fine lines, folks). Dry skin, and in the desert, even drier skin. This product is very sheer and buildable, gives a nice finish that looks natural. No scent, kind of limited shade range for me as am super pale olive base. I got the lightest shade, which has a cool hue, and it's a little too pink for my liking, so just ordered the light 2-3 (which is warm) to mix the two. I usually have to customize. In the photo, wearing the true Match 0.5-2, some blush, and lipgloss; that's it. Two different lighting set ups: outdoor and indoor facing north light window.. Very nice product, except no sunscreen, so I have that on under the serum as well. If your sunscreen is zinc based and leaves a whitish hue, you might choose a little darker on the serum to counteract that. My facial SPF is pretty clear. Only negative is the stopper; you must place it carefully back in the bottle so as not to overflow and make a mess. I just swipe some off the glass stopper without removing it entirely from the bottle, to avoid that situation. ... show more

Older, Redhead, Very Fair Dry Skin! WOW, Finally!! It checks all the boxes! I love this foundation, but I hate the bottle. This stuff only takes a drop here and there, and just glides on (I use a brush and buff out): * Evens out skin tone, and brightens without looking thick or heavy. Very natural results. * Does not accentuate my wrinkles, or crêpe skin😊 * No breakouts or irritation * Color stays true (no orange) * Wears well all day, no transfer or streaking * Moisturizing/nondrying. Stays dewy. I wanted shear coverage that didn’t grab or cake up in my senior skin…Found it! I’ve tried all the popular brands (Perbelle, It Cosmetics, L. Geller, etc…), but just couldn’t get the right look and feel. Everything made my skin look OLD and tired. This isn’t a full cover foundation, but almost has a serum-like consistency. It brightens, and smooths out minor discoloration and improves the appearance of my skin texture. The bottle/dropper is horrible (however, I appreciate the product being in glass, and avoiding more micro plastic exposure). I will look for another container that is less messy. The cost is well within my painfully tight budget, and it should last forever (as you only need a few dots here and there). I couldn’t be happier with this product 😁.
