If you have imperfect skin but would love to have that no make-up natural look, this is for you. I'm 50. My skin has developed a mind of its own: adult acne, dryness, etc. In my quest to find products that don't aggravate my sensitive skin, I found a website that lets you know if products have ANY ingredients that could cause issues. This product has ZERO ingredients that are known to cause issues for sensitive or acne-prone skin. I am LOVING this product!!! It balances my skin tone while also allowing my freckles to poke through. I am also able to tap on a bit more around my adult acne, so those are decently covered. I have noticed that I need to exfoliate in order for this to sit well, but I think exfoliating has helped the acne - so that has been a bit of a win-win. It doesn't feel as though I have makeup on; it feels more like a light moisturizer. I do NOT use the recommended primer (I just don't use a lot of makeup and probably put it on wrong because I had pilling when I used it. If I don't use the primer, there's no pilling.) It doesn't settle into the tiny lines around my eyes. I don't need to use a lot of it and haven't even needed to use concealer. I think this might be the best foundation type product that I have ever used. When my daughter saw me, she said, "Oh - your skin is looking so healthy!" I let her know that I am wearing makeup and she was floored. A note about shine: when I put this on, it has a sort of "velvety texture" on my skin. I am unsure what other words to use to describe it. It isn't heavy. It isn't reflective. It isn't quite matte. It just looks like healthy skin. After a few hours, if I do not use niacinamide serum (The Ordinary) then I will notice a slight sheen in my T-zone. If I use a tissue to "pat" that area, no color is transferred but the sheen will go away. When using the niacinamide serum, the sheen is far less pronounced. Overall, I LOVE that this product doesn't have that fake shine look to it; I think that's why I feel like it just looks like a really healthy version of my own skin.

As I've hit my 50s (ouch), my skin doesn't like a lot of things it used to endure. This is the only foundation equivalent I can find that is 1. affordable and 2. works and 3. has good skin tone match. I didn't even need to use powder to set it. Since Origins stopped making cosmetics, I had a very long search for a foundation to pretty up my face. I found it. Also, easy to apply. A dab'll do you on each side. And no weird cracking/caking. Just be sure to give your moisturizer 10 minutes to absorb first. (A rule with all foundation, but worth reiterating!)

Goes on like a dream. Light coverage and the color is perfect for me. It is buildable and does last. Easy to remove with make up remover wipes. Not expensive. Size is just right.

This was a great color match for me but it always feels like it just sits on top of my skin and slips around. I’ve tried it with and without primer and applying with fingers, brush, and a dry sponge. It feels the same no matter how I apply and wears off quickly, even with setting spray and powder. I am 44, normal skin with some oil in my t-zone in warm/summer months (which was when I tried this foundation). I have some texture overall and very fine lines near my eyes. I might try this again in the winter when my skin is a bit drier but I won’t repurchase this. Update: I tried this again during winter months and I do like it better. It looks & works best when used without primer and finished with setting powder. It does leave a very glowy finish so if you like that dewy look, this is for you.
