A French person living in the US who has been desperate to find a good coffee brand for her nespresso machine… imagine how elated I was to find out L’Or could be found at a reasonable price on Amazon :) I don’t have high hopes as I read some mixed reviews but I must admit it tastes really great.

Tried these due to the low price, but you get what you pay for. The shot volume produced with these is much more watery than the equivalent nespresso pod. Flavor is okay, and definitely works for lattes, but I felt I needed two capsules to reach a decent espresso forward flavor.

I love the quality and amount I get for the price I pay. I love my Lor barista machine and these pods. The espresso is so fresh with so much creama! I love it. They’re sealed perfectly. They smell wonderful when brewing and the different levels of strength to the coffees are great!

So, the first question is, how to they compare to the more expensive Nespresso brand? Just about on par, with a slight edge to Nespresso. Nespresso also has some flavors that are just amazing, like Cuban, it it literally the best tasting espresso I have ever had, but it is their most expensive one too. Other flavors of similar intensity are very close, and considering the price difference, there is no reason to not by these L'OR capsules. I have a Kitchen Aid unit, L'OR works great in it, and not have had any that were bad or did not work properly, they have been flawless.... What initially sold me on the L'OR was the fact, they are one of only 3 other third party that use aluminum, not cheap plastic. The other two are Starbucks and Peets, and as we all know, Nespresso brand are also aluminum. Considering the costs, taste and quality, you would be nuts to not try this brand. From time to time I will order some flavors from Nespresso that L'OR does not have, like the Cuban and their decaf ones I get for late night cravings. I have not seen any LO'R in decaf yet, however I am a loyal L'OR customer now and the only way that will change is if they stop making them. I also want to mention, in three orders so far, not a single capsule had a dent or has malfunctioned, this is a sign of their quality control, which is very good. If you have not yet tried L'OR, you are really missing out on a great buy, without sacrificing the quality. NOTE: Most of the bad reviews are from people that do not understand what version machine they have, these DO NOT work in Vertuoline, only the original line. You would think these people would have seen the pictures and noticed they look different? Maybe read the description? What amazes me more is they (the purchaser) makes the mistake and give the product a bad review.... ... show more

So I have had nespresso pods and this did not remind me of that at all. They are good however I was wanting that more creamy taste/texture, almost to where you don’t even need cream? That was not the case with these, rather bitter in my opinion. Not horrible, I added my coconut almond milk creamer and some sweetener and it was very tasty. Price is good, I only drink 1 cup a day sometimes none.. worth trying but not comparable to nespresso like many of the reviews said in my opinion ... show more
