Description
The KYB Gas-a-Just monotube shock absorber has additional performance advantages over the traditional twin-tube design: It can instantly, automatically adjust to your performance needs and never experiences fade due to aeration. The Gas-a-Just is available as an OE monotube replacement and as an OE twin-tube performance upgrade. The KYB Gas-a-Just has two separate working chambers: An air-free hydraulic piston and valve area for responsiveness & control, and a second high-pressure nitrogen gas area with a floating piston that provides a comfortable ride during normal driving and adds instant performance on demand.

don't buy returned parts to save money
well i brought two returned shock absorbers neither one had all the parts but i was able to use them using parts off the old shocks and finding nuts that fit the threads because they where different threads but fit well and ride great

Direct fit 1968 Firebird - FRONT
Needed a new pair of front shocks for my recently acquired 68 firebird. No idea how old the ones were that came with the car, but these were a perfect fit to replace them. Installation was a bit of a challenge, but after daisy chaining about 5-6 zip ties together to hold the shock in a compressed state, I was able to maneuver it into position, get the bottom bolts started but not tight, then cut the zip tie 'chain' to allow the shock to decompress. These only come with new fasteners for the top threaded stud, not the bottom ones. The bottom bolts were pretty rusty so I replaced with new grade 8 bolts & washers purchased locally. For my application I needed 5/16" bolts, 1.25" long with a standard thread pitch (18). YMMV, but this worked great for me.

I love these shocks
over thirty years of working on and driving this 1970 Camaro SS 396, I have not been able to beat the performance of these shocks, for the price, with any of three or four pairs of different types and brands of good shocks. I will replace these shocks, when the time comes, with another pair just like them. Try them out on your muscle car and see what you think.

Better than I ever expected.
Bought these for my 67 Camaro. thought for sure that I was in need of springs too, but wanted to do the shocks first, just in case. MAN o MAN! Rides like it's on rails. Nice, firm, carves the corners like a dream! I no longer feel like I will roll or bounce. I have a new level of confidence in the car now that it has new shocks! No more tire rub, bounce, or land yacht feel.
