I had previously bought, and returned, a cheaper (~$35) KVM which stopped working after two weeks. That cheaper one was so light that it wouldn't stay where I put it. This one is leagues better. It has some weight, so it stays in place on my desk. I've only had it a couple of months, but so far, it has worked flawlessly. It has EDID simulation, so my computers don't freak out, and it feels high quality to the touch. It uses standard cables too, not those combination HDMI+USB cables that cause problems. At double the price of my previous one, it feels four times a better product. Soon after I bought it, I needed another one to only switch video on some other computers (I didn't need USB, which is what failed on the cheap one), so which one did I buy? Pretty easy to setup, works with my 2k ultrawide. I've has some issues with my Mac and 1 PC not waking up by the keyboard when they go into low power mode. This worked with my previous KVM. Not a big deal but can be annoying. Will play around with the system settings and see if its on my end or the KVM. Cons: Remote is tiny. I appreciate having one but it is very small and gets lost on my desk. I feel like I might break one of the remote buttons when I press it. I wouldn't hesitate to get another should I need one. ... show more

Small unit but works exactly as it should. Simple USB input and outputs. I have a wireless mouse and a wired keyboard connected to it and 3 different PC setups. 1 is a regular PC, 1 is a raspberry pi and 1 is a small NUC style PC. They all recognize it and work seamlessly with the shared inputs.

I was impressed with it at first. Actually, still am, for the money I spent. Problem though is it seems to have issues with keyboard/mice. Especially when everything is plugged into a USB 3.0 channel. Which....is part of why I bought the KVM. I found if I plug the USB into a USB 2.0 slot, the random LAG in mouse/keyboard inputs goes away. Which works fine with most devices that have a mix of USB 3.0 and older. BUT, not good with the Mac Mini I use with this. Ended up swapping the USB 3.0 wire for a USB 2.0 wire for the Mac Mini. And that seemed to fix the issue. Other than giving up USB 3.0 (which is part of why I bought this), the rest of the unit works great. I can live without it for the KVM function....but still. It's why I bought it. ... show more

    • Won't run higher than 30 Hz with LG Ultrawide monitor

I have a MacBook, a Windows 11 laptop, a Windows 11 desktop w/ NVidia 4090, and a Windows 10 desktop with NVidia 980 Ti, connected to an LG Ultrawide monitor w/ 3440x1440 resolution. When connected directly, all four machines can drive the monitor at 60 Hz. However, through this KVM switch, only the MacBook and the Windows laptop can drive the monitor at 60 Hz, and only when connected through USB-C to HDMI adapter. The two desktops can only run at 30 Hz over direct HDMI. (And no, I can't do USB-C to HDMI oh the desktops) If you have an ultrawide monitor, consider carefully whether you are ok with running at 30 Hz, or if USB-C to HDMI is an option for you. Otherwise, you might be unpleasantly surprised when you hook your machines. Other than this, the switch is pretty simple to install and use. Comes with four USB 3.0 cables (you have to provide your own HDMI cables), and a wired remote button, so it's can be stashed somewhere aside where it doesn't take valuable space. If it wasn't for the refresh rate issue, this would get a solid 5 stars. Sadly, the 30 Hz is pretty big deal for me, so... ... show more

First, thank you to the seller for reaching out immediately after my purchase! It was a nice surprise to get your communication and support for any technical needs I may have required. Setup: It couldn't be simpler! Just make sure you read the description that only 1 HDMI cable is included, it would make sense that it's for the KVM to the monitor connection. You will need HDMI cables for each laptop/PC you are going to connect to the KVM. It does include the 4 USB cables for each laptop/PC you are going to connect to the KVM. Back Story: I have laptops and PCs of varying ages and was a bit leery of their USB and HDMI port versions being compatible but, I didn't have to worry. ... show more
