I have a 12th Gen I7 Intel CPU computer that uses 2 HDMI/DP monitors. I also use an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX AI computer that has one display port monitor. My purpose was to combine the output of both computers to just use one set of peripherals thereby cleaning up my desktop. The common peripherals are a wired RGB keyboard, a wireless Logitech trackball mouse, and a wired Webcam. These USB devices are in use on the KVM switch while each computer has some peripherals still plugged into the individual computer as I don't need those USB devices on both computers. I have all the attached devices working and can now switch between those peripherals connections (all at once) to each computer. I had seen other reviews that said both computers must use 2 monitors. Its simply not true. I have only one monitor in use for the NVidia AI computer. When the switch is thrown to use that NVidia output, it turns on the one monitor I have its only output on and just lets the other one go to sleep. The compromises I did have though are not deal breakers for me but could cause issues for some. It will only let my monitors display in 60Hz refresh rate. It allows the resolution to be be changed but not the refresh rate. But it's still a very nice 1440p display on 2 monitors for my computer and a 1080p single monitor display for my NVidia computer at 60Hz. The other compromises were that HDR did not function right through this box. Also I had issues with NVidias G-Synch technology misidentifying the monitors and doing some strange default settings. Setting each monitor on each computer to not use HDR or G-Sync was necessary. The monitors and main computers were both hooked up using HDMI cables. The NVidia AI computer has only a Display Port so it has a DP to HDMI cable attached. The supplied cables are all quite short. So you will likely want to go out and buy some of your own cables for any hookups more than 3 feet away. The sound for the computer comes from a sound card in the PC and the sound from the NVidia AI computer is getting it's sound from the speaker in the monitor. My internet for both computers comes from wired 1G ethernet cables fed from my switch/hub to each computer. So I was able to eliminate several peripherals and my desk has a lot less devices cluttering up the workspace. However, because of the number of cables you have to hook up at this KVM box, you'll likely actually have more cables than you would have before. So you get 4 USB ports to hook up your peripherals like mice or keyboards or webcams or printers to be used by both computers. You get a power cable but no power adapter for this KVM box but you might not need it. If you need one just use one of your old USB 5V phone adapters. If you want to hide your cables and connections, you don't have to press the button on top of the unit to switch to another computer. You can hook up the included wired remote switch to the box and hide the box away. The remote wired switch then can be stuck on your desk to do the switching. You can also hit the Windows key and P at the same time to get a simple hookup choice for your monitors. I needed a KVM switch would could support my keyboard, mouse, usb microphone, and a fourth usb device. Additionally, I needed it to support two computers and deliver 4k @ 120hz. Notes: I did not use the included wired remote as I mounted the KVM under my desk in such a way that the remote would be redundant. Works as expected - 1 PC with (1) HDMI output and (1) DVI-D Output. Other Computer is a Laptop docking station with (1) HDMI output and (1) Display Port. I am using a wireless mouse and keyboard as well. One great feature is that the unit comes with standard HDMI and USB cables and not the all in one proprietary cable that other KVMs come with. The only downside is the unit only comes with (2) HDMI cables and (2) USB cables. You will require additional cables is you are using 2 pcs with 2 monitors. I purchased two new monitors and wanted to set it up so my wife could use them with her laptop or I could us them with the desktop. This did the trick. It came with most of the connections including two USB-A to USB-A cables. I needed a Dual HDMI to USB-A adapter to her laptop docking station. Now I just push the remote button to switch between computers. Installed a Bluetooth keyboard dongle on the front of the KVM switch and we can use the same wireless mouse and keyboard. ... show more

Using this to switch keyboard, mouse, hdmi, microphone, and camera between laptop and desktop. Works well, and having the corded extension switch is very nice. Issues come from the laptop losing its network connection due to the network cable being connected through a USB adapter, which is a windows problem (workaround by manually re-plugging the USB adapter). ... show more

If you don't use the USB cables between the hub and computers, it may seem the USB ports in front don't work....they do but not without those rear USB cables to each computer. :)
