My inner child loves glow-sticks. They just bring joy. These are an interesting and more modern version of the old chem-lights I loved as a kid. They're nothing to look at in the package, just a soft, packing-foam type tube... but if you hit the button, these things come ALIVE. They're entertaining to look at, and see others playing with. That said, the strobe effects (which are the only modes available) seem intent on causing me a seizure or hallucinations. (Yes, I'm being dramatic for the sake of humor, but they're a little hard on my old eyes.) I think they'll be a joy and a wonder to the younger crowd however, and I know they'll have a ball with them. They certainly draw your attention. These are fun, seemingly harmless, affordable, and come with batteries included. They're a great value, perfect party favor, and will add some real entertainment to your next get-together with friends.

I don't get all the positive reviews on these. I was really excited to use these with my kids this Halloween and beyond. Was hoping to eliminate the disposable glow sticks and reuse these for some time since we go through so many glow sticks over the year. When I pulled them out the kids were excited, they were bright and colorful, real fun looking. But a few didn't work right out of the package, a few more had some kind of issue functioning, and the ones that did work would shut off if you bumped them at all or dropped them. They were constantly trying to turn them back on. And after only 2 hours use many had such low batteries they only glowed red. Since they need 3 button cells each, and only last such a short time I don't see myself investing in a bunch of batteries for light toys that barely work. These were a bust for us.

I was looking to do centerpieces for a birthday party, these actually turned out really well. The battery last pretty long on these, all of the kids were having such a great time with these. By the end of the night, I even had adult wanting to take some home. They are gentle enough for children to sword fight with them and not hurt themselves. I love that it has different levels for the light function.

I was looking for glow sticks for a party and came across these. I like that these are soft, and have batteries and a switch so they can be used multiple times. They're also soft so safe easier to use around kids, however the foam stopper does come out easily. So if you do have very little kids, you need to be careful that they don't swallow the small parts. But for older kids, the different light patterns and size make these a fun toy, or to use around Halloween time.
