The shade is as a traditional round, double fold shade would ... but has sewn-on pieces of fabric around the edges that allow for the custom fit that blocks out almost all the light in a Honda Civic front windshield. That said, it isn't a 100% perfect fit as they suggest, as light can still leak in from certain small spots around the edges. But it is the closest to a 100% fit I've seen. However...the biggest drawback ... holy clunky hot mess this shade is... If you have a passenger ... good luck. The shade when removed becomes a gigantic, awkward, clunky burden and is very difficult to fold up without messing with your rearview mirror, any items you might have standing in your cupholders, and certainly will smack your passenger in the face if you have one (might be good if it's your mother-in-law, to be honest). But in all seriousness, I have no idea why they didn't make this with one more fold in either of the main two panels so that you could just fold it in a more traditional manner to stow it away. Ultimately, even though it is a good shade...I think I would pass on it if I had the chance again.
