Who measured that? How did they measure that? How is that verified? LOL. At least that statement leads me to believe there is some amount of air filtering happening. I guess at least with my old filter I can see the dust and dirt that turned it brown. And I am confident that this filter will perform in a similar way. At least maybe 98%. The important thing here is that a dirty filter is replaced with a new filter. No matter what percentage is filtered, the filter is doing the job it is designed to do. If not for the oil change guys mentioning a dirty filter, I would never even think about that issue. And I suspect a monkey could change an air filter. At least I have successfully done it myself. I am sure there are videos available for the less mechanically inclined. The filter is a perfect fit. I mean at least 99% accurate fit. I think that might be the most important selling point. If it doesn't fit – air is going to go around it. Now my minivan can breathe better for at least the amount of time it takes for the next oil change guy to suggest a new one. And this filter is less expensive than the one they always try to sell me. Is their version 100% Air Purification. I sort of doubt that. Probably 72%. I might ask. At the recommended replacement interval of 12000 miles how can I afford not to replace this. That gives me almost two years at the rate I drive. It is worth the peace of mind that my vehicle is being maintained. I want to mention the issue I had with installing this filter. It seems that 3 of the four small bolts that hold the cover closed had previously broken off. They must have been torqued too tight or rusted or both or simply a bad design. Maybe those oil change guys are playing it fast and loose. So, the one remaining bolt did not want to loosen either. It has a Phillips screwdriver head in addition to a hex head. My screwdriver would not loosen this, so I grabbed the ‘breaking oil’ and sprayed the bolt and grabbed the socket that fit the bolt head. I was able to carefully remove this bolt. I was able to find screws to replace the broken bolts in order to secure the assembly closed. Just a tip to look for in case someone has the same issue. It won’t filter unless it is properly sealed. Great product. Great price. Great fit. And 30% more dust capture capacity. I will not even begin to address that statement. But I will purchase this filter when the time is due to replace this one.
