If you have a stainless steel (or even just that grey tone they advertise as stainless steel in apartments) and you want something that doesn’t pop out as not a part of the machine… look no further. The only way this could be better is if it somehow had the ability to change itself from dirty to clean and back. The text is easily readable, and the sliding mechanism is strong. The device itself is sturdy and has some heft to its size. The magnetic ability is absolutely perfect. I have never had to adjust its position on the machine in the 6 months I’ve had it on there. The size is honestly the Goldilocks of sizes. Big enough you know it’s there but subtle enough my roommate didn’t even notice it for a couple of months (I also think he just didn’t want to do the dishes but I digress) My only real question is… why don’t they just build these on the dishwashers themselves? But until that day, snag ya one of these. It’s simple enough and well built enough that I don’t foresee having to buy another one unless it got lost in a move.

The media could not be loaded. It's a tale as old as time... You finish eating a meal that you spent a ton of time making (or not). You give it the old quick rinse in the sink and go to put it in the dishwasher when you have that nagging thought "crap... are these dirty or clean? WAIT, if they're clean, do I have to EMPTY IT RIGHT NOW?"" No one likes surprise chores - at least I don't. That where this little slider comes in handy. It comes with a built in magnet backing, so anyone with a stainless finish on your dishwasher, it'll slap right on and you're good to go. For those that don't, it also comes with two pieces of mounting foam so you can stick it to any dishwasher. Or a ton of other things (not sure what they would be). Aesthetically, it's a clean design that blends in well with the dishwasher. There's other that have red and green coloring, but it was too loud for my taste. This looks clean and classy IMO. The magnet isn't incredibly strong and I was actually a little concerned it would move around when opening and closing the dishwasher, but so far, it hasn't moved at all so I think it's a non issue. Either way, great buy and I'd highly recomend it!

I really like this magnet. We haven’t had it long so I can’t speak to durability, but it seems more durable than the one I had before. The last one I purchased was made of plastic that had cracked and didn’t hold on with the built-in magnet, I had to attach it with double sided stickers. This one comes with those stickers too, if you need them, but I didn’t need to use them (even though I needed them for the last sign we purchased which was from a different manufacturer), I think this one has a stronger magnet. I also like that “dirty” is black and “clean” is light grey so it’s easy to spot whether the dishwasher has been run (or if I need to start it) from a distance. I also like that it’s a horizontal slide because our last one was a circle that spun around (so you would turn it around the circle to change from dirty to clean), it got loose which caused it to accidentally switch if it was bumped, that’s not an issue with this design since you need to slide it over horizontally, it doesn’t move unless you intentionally switch it over. It’s unobtrusive, looks nice, and is a functional simple design, very happy with the purchase.
