  • Typical Kreg high quality.
Item Package Quantity: 1
I already owned a pair of 3” Kreg clamps, a pair of 2” Kreg clamps. I currently am up to four 6” Automaxx Kreg clamps which are my most-used clamps of anything that I have for woodworking projects. I have a lot of bar clamps of various sizes that I use often to hold large projects for glue curing but my Kreg clamps get used both for gluing and pocket jig joints. With my satisfaction for the Kreg clamps that I already have, I bought these corner clamps with confidence. True to my previous experiences with Kreg clamps, they are fine quality and work nicely. I have other corner clamps that are only good for scrap. They will go in a garage sale, one day for fifty cents a piece, if I can get it. The Kreg corner clamps are forever though. My only disappointment was to find these new Kreg corner clamps labeled Made In China. I happily pay a bit more for quality American-made tools. I incorrectly assumed that clamps were made in the Huxley, Iowa, USA manufacturing plant. A word of caution also, there is a Chinese knock-version of these Kreg clamps on the market. The photo on the Amazon ad showed, what appeared to be, a genuine Kreg clamp complete with the Automaxx logo on the handle. I bought a pair of those to supplement these two Kreg originals. I returned them as defective for refund. Be certain to buy the Kreg originals. Do not be fooled by false photos. ... show more

  • Easy to use for butt joints
Item Package Quantity: 1
The clamp doesn't have all the grip of any face clamp or else, but it works fine for the main use, butt joints at right angles. The main purpose is to hold the pieces together in order to use screws or pocket hole joints, that works as designed. Do not expect gorilla pressure on the clamp, it is not intended for that, only to keep the pieces at 90 degrees and use pocket holes, screws and nails. I wish to have one of this on my first cabinet I used a corner clamp since the main intention is to hold everything in order to put the screws. The adjustment screw is easy to use. ... show more

  • Good Tool, after 2 adjustments
Item Package Quantity: 1
The tool works great but I needed to make 2 adjustments to get it there as shown in the pictures. The first is that it had almost zero clamping pressure. I read somewhere how to fix this and it seemed to work. You need to back out the adjustment screw most of the way, cycle the tool, and then adjust it to the pressure you need. Kreg should do this at the factory so shame on them for delivering these in this condition. The 2nd adjustment was that the boards were noticeably out of square (1 to 2 degrees which amplifies over the cabinet distances of course as 1 deg = .017"/1"). I checked the jaws for flatness and squareness and saw that one jaw was slightly out of flat in the direction that was consistent with what I observed in the clamped boards. I took a file and carefully flattened the offending jaw and now they are quite square and repeatable. The clamp is now very handy to use and accurate. The disappointing thing is that Kreg could have produced the tool this way so it is not up to their normal quality standards and they should fix this before losing the public on a well conceived and useful tool ... show more

  • Thought they where broken, but
Item Package Quantity: 1
I purchased 2 of these clamps. Neither one will hold 3/4 inch plywood when assembling a cabinet. I have a right angle clamp by Kreg that uses the same auto adjust that works like a charm. I may have been lucky enough to get 2 defective clamps. So I contacted Kreg about this. The same day I received a reply describing how to reset the clamps and it this doesn't work to let them know. So I followed the instructions and the clamps begin to work like they should. I have to commend Kreg on their quick response. Here is how to reset the auto adjust clamps. " So you will open the jaws and back out that adjustment screw to the point where it is really loose but not falling out. You should see around 3/8" of threads between the bottom of the head of the screw to where it screws into the mechanism. Then you will close the jaws then open them back up. After that, you can bring that adjustment screw back to the positive around halfway down and try to clamp it down. That adjustment is not an exact adjustment, you may have to tighten it more or loosen it more to get the correct pressure you want to apply. When you are using the clamp, you will want to make sure you are opening the clamp fully when you are moving the clamp. This will allow the Automaxx system to reset to zero each time. You should only need to adjust the adjustment screw if you need to add or take out pressure from the clamp as the clamp will adjust to different thicknesses on its own. " ... show more

  • SERIOUS LIMITATION in adjustment, plus not KREG
Item Package Quantity: 1
These are an imitation of the actual KREG product. I compared to an actual KREG at the store and these look somewhat less polished and less robust. They work okay, but have at least one serious FUNCTIONAL LIMITATION. The actual KREG product has an adjustable corner stop, but this cheap knock-off does not. If you watch the (KREG-made) video they pirated to advertise this known-off, you can see them use it. It's the beveled, spring loaded piece on the smaller / inside clamp face. On the KREG you can pull up on and rotate the stop to configure the joint. Say you have 'bottom' and 'side' pieces for your joint. If you have the corner stop turned one way, the the 'side' would run all the way to the stop / outside of the joint and the 'top' would but into it. Kinda like this: |_ If you rotate the corner stop the other way, 'bottom' will go all the way to the stop, which will be the outside of the finished joint, and the 'side' will butt into the 'top' piece. Not being able to easily change this is a severe limitation on the usefulness of the clamp. It CAN be changed by unscrewing the stop, rotating it, and screwing it back in. This is a pain in the anatomy because it's difficult to get at the screw and difficult to re-assemble. Not super hard, but not something you want to do every time you put the clamp in a different position. So, false advertising in calling it a KREG product and using the stolen video that highlights features these clamps don't actually have. Boo. I hadn't really shopped for these when I purchased them, so I didn't realize how much cheaper they were than the actual KREG product, or I would have known they were knock-offs. I doubt I'll send them back, but I wouldn't buy them with the hard-to change corner stop. ... show more

  • Decent Clamp, But Has Some Issues
Item Package Quantity: 1
I got the Kreg KHCCC corner clamp for some woodworking projects, and it does the job but there are a few things that could be better. The automatic adjustment feature is nice and makes it easy to set up but I found it a bit tricky to get the perfect hold every time. Sometimes it’s a little too tight or not tight enough which can throw off your project. The build quality is solid, though, and once you get it adjusted right it holds corners and joints securely. It works well for cabinets and boxes but it’s not the most user-friendly tool if you're not experienced. Overall, it’s good for the price but it could be a little more precise and easier to use. It’s decent but I’m not completely sold on it. ... show more
