This was my first time cooking rice with Djon-djon mushrooms. I followed an online recipe and ended up satisfied with the results. These mushrooms give the rice a unique flavor. I'd say the only downside is that you need to use a lot of the mushrooms per rice serving (it's about 1 cup rice for 1 cup mushrooms, give or take depending on how much flavor you want). With the amount that you get in this bag, you can make maybe 6-7 cups of rice. It would also be nice if the bag came with instructions, although this isn't really an issue since you can easily find recipes online.

I used these dried mushrooms to make a special occasion rice dish following a recipe I found online that claimed to be authentic. The djon-djon had a good, earthy aroma and looked clean, no random debris in the package. I'd never even heard of these before getting the opportunity to try them and I am so happy that I did, everyone enjoyed the rice!
