Have had this for a few years and still going strong! I love being able to make my own flour whenever I need and have all the benefits of freshly milled whole grains! Will never go back to store bought flour! I have not had any issues whatsoever with this mill. Works great every time.

  • I Love Everything about This Grain Mill
Color: Brown
I've long been a scratch baker. I debated getting a grain mill for a couple of years. I used to grind grain in a Vitamix; the results were never completely satisfactory, so when my blender container broke and Vitamix's solution was to sell me a brand new machine, I gave up on that method. But I still waited, read reviews, argued with myself about spending the money... Why did I wait so long? I'm thrilled with this thing! This produces much better results than my prior method. It's much quieter, and the flour is no where near as hot. (I used to have to grind my grain the day before I baked bread to give the flour time to cool down enough that I didn't risk killing the yeast.) It produces very little dust. I think the end result is tastier than the flour I ground using my previous method. The first thing I made was whole-wheat pasta from freshly-ground durum wheat. It was tastier than any whole-wheat pasta I've ever purchased, and everyone who's tasted my homemade whole wheat pasta has agreed that it's far superior to store-bought. It's noisiest when grinding with the stones further apart. However, grinding grain on a coarser setting and then re-grinding to a finer setting produces much less heat, and I think it's faster. Heed the instructions from the manufacturer. Perhaps read through them a couple of times. This machine is an investment, and you'll want to treat it well. I'm already eyeing several accessories for this machine. I'm hooked! ... show more

  • A Superior Grain Mill
Color: Brown
I cannot say enough great things about this grain mill. I have only ever owned this mill, and I bought it after doing my research and deciding I wanted the absolute best grain mill I could get. The product does not disappoint. A couple of points: -The look is classic and beautiful. I am happy and proud to have this mill on my counter. -The noise level is about the equivalent of a coffee grinder. It's there, but not deafening. -The fineness of the smallest setting is great - if you grind it twice. It took me a while to realize that if I pre-ground my flour, I would get a fine enough grind for breads and muffins, without a noticeable texture. -The instructions are a bit vague and insufficient. I had to learn quite a bit about my mill through trial, error, and Youtube. That being said, it was pretty easy to clean, and has performed flawlessly. ... show more

  • Overheated after 2 minutes
Color: Brown
Tried to grind wheat berries and it stopped after 2 minutes and would not turn back on. Not sure what I am going to do now with how expensive the giant paperweight is at this time. Very upset was really looking forward to this.

  • High quality stone mill with easy setting control
Color: Brown
Very well made. You can change the grind level “on the fly” by turning the top. We use it at least 5 times a week and have no doubt that it will last for many years to come. The lowest grind level is equivalent to a comercial “pastry flour”. We have made everything from sourdough bread to cakes, cookies, pasta and everything in between with flour freshly milled with the KoMo. Yes, it’s expensive, but you do get what you pay for. We saved and did not go with a cheaper mill. It was worth the wait. The loaf in the pic is 100% whole wheat sourdough milled on the KoMo and baked in a clay pot in our kitchen oven. ... show more

  • Fabulous Grain Mill
Color: Brown
I absolutely love this mill. I grind flour for all my breads, pasta and pastries as I need it. This mill is fast, relatively quiet (thanks for whomever suggested putting a towel over the spout - I actually affixed elastic to the corners of a hand towel so it slips over the hopper and makes it quieter and keeps down the flour dust) and is just plain lovely to look at. I did buy the KoMo flour sifter for those occasions when your just don't want all that bran. It works well. I feel healthier already. ... show more
