My oldest son chose this for his younger brother as a Christmas gift. I helped him to review options and we decided on this one based on the reviews, and especially because it's constructed of metal not plastic. We've had it about 4 months now, it has taken some tumbles and handling by a 6 year old very well. It moves pretty well in any terrain we've used it on (dirt, grass, rocks). The battery lasts quite awhile and my son enjoys the realistic movement of the boom. Yes the bucket & thumb doesn't move like a real piece of machinery, that's well noted by the seller, my son likes it as is and has no trouble using his hand to fill the bucket with sand and dump it while he playing, no complaints.
