The Lifetime Kokanee 106 Tandem Kayak is a unique sit-on-top design that allows for solo or tandem paddling making it a great choice for those looking for extra versatility and value in a recreational kayak. Hit the water with a friend using the two adjustable backrests or simply move one of the backrests to the center position and you can paddle solo. The comfortable high backrests and multiple footrest positions help you dial in your comfort level. Bungee cords on the bow and stern help keep gear within reach while paddling and the storage hatch gives you access to the hull for additional storage space. The Kokanee 106 is constructed of blow-molded high-density polyethylene (HDPE) making it durable, UV-protected, and impact resistant. 10 ft. 6 in. sit-on-top tandem kayak has two adjustable backrests with quick-release attachments, one 6 in. storage hatch, bungee storage system on the bow and stern and a front toggle handle. 5 year limited warranty on the hull. I like that this is only 10.5 feet which makes it a lot easier to carry, lift on top the SUV, and store in the garage. The seats are ok, but not great. I actually like the sturdy hard plastic backs, but no padding under the butt is uncomfortable after about 40 minutes. I just stuck a foam pad under and it was totally fine for a couple hours on the water. There are no eye hooks installed other than the a handle on front and back, which means you have to install them to use other seats. Not a big deal, just FYI. There's plenty of room for 2 adults, but a small child in the middle as well is a tight fit. We made it work for a couple hours, but the person in the back is pretty cramped and harder to paddle like that. I was a little nervous about getting the boat on top an SUV, but it was easy even by myself at 5'10" and 185 lbs. I watched a couple YouTube videos on how to do it and there are a few tricks that make it not a big deal. Getting it down was also not difficult though you should go slow because momentum can take over and cause the kayak to topple if you're not careful. On the water, the kayak was really stable even with a medium wind and slightly choppy water. It tracked pretty straight and was not too hard to get moving at a decent pace. I don't think it's possible to go fast in this unless you have two amazing paddlers working perfectly in sync, but it's not hard to get going at a nice and relaxing speed. ... show more

I’ve been on the lake a few times now and I love this kayak. I’m 57 and short so I wanted something I could be comfortable with. Took me a couple of times to get used to getting on it but finally mastered it. It’s not a fast kayak but it’s sturdy and I feel comfortable and safe on it. I have no problem maneuvering it around. I suggest you get the longer paddle I tried the shorter one and it was much harder to paddle and you hit the side a lot plus you get wet from the paddle dripping water on you. I changed to the longer paddle and it was much better. The kayak is a bit heavy if I load and unload by myself it’s a bit more challenging but can be done. Much easier with two people. The only thing I didn’t like was the storage holes are pretty useless you can’t really put anything in there it will just slide all over the place. But I’m working on a solution for that. This would be a good family kayak I’ll be taking my granddaughter out on it. And might do a bit fishing on it. If you’re looking for a family kayak for cursing the lake and having fun I recommend this kayak. Bought from Amazon and It arrived in good condition. ... show more

This kayak is great. There is a lot of space to set up for fishing. Also works great for 2 people to have fun in it as well. I do recommend a wheel cart for it.

I am glad I unwrapped it in front of the driver. Kayak was crushed on the back quarter and there was a puncture hole in the bottom of the hull. He understood why I refused delivery. It looked like great kayak. I am very disappointed. I ordered again and am hoping that the next one will arrive with no issues. First order took a long while from time of order. Now I have to wait longer hoping that the next one would arrive with no damage. Update: I ordered this again in hopes that it will arrive safely and it did. The product itself is 5 stars. I upgraded my original 1 star up to 3 stars for the experience of ordering was very bad initially for the time to fulfill and the bad handling. The kayak itself is great. I finally purchased this tandem kayak and what a great purchase it is!! It's a little on the larger size weighing in at over 70 lbs so if you don't have a friend going with you I'd recommend a kayak dolly. But the stability this kayak has is amazing, it feels more like a small John boat for how wide it is and I never had the feeling it was going to tip over. The 3 things I would change is adding a 2nd cup holder for your tandem partner, the storage area doesn't have a blocked off wall so what ever you stow away is not secured but is underneath you the entire length of the kayak, and last the seating area, if the adjustable back rest had a cushion for your butt this would be the perfect tandem kayak, the plastic gets to be a little hard on your tush after a long ride, so I'd bring a cushion along. But I would totally recommend this kayak to anyone looking for a tandem ride, which can also adjust to a single ride in a matter of minutes. 100% happy satisfied customer!! ... show more

    • The seats broke on me my first time out and there was a hole in the hull.
I have some Lifetime Paddleboards that I love and made me want to try this for the value and durability I've come to expect from Lifetime. Unfortunately my first time out in this the plastic parts that hold the seat strap and back in place broke and pretty quickly after that I noticed a hole in the hull that quickly got bigger and ended up taking on a lot of water. I'm grateful for Amazon's generous return policy, I won't be giving this another try. ... show more

Great tandem sit-on kayak for the price. I love the hard back seats, the ones that are foam held in by straps always slip. It’s a bit too heavy alone for me (42 year old woman) but I can lift it with one of my kids ok. No handle on the side like my other lifetime kayak which makes carrying it a bit harder but it’s stable in the water and overall was a great purchase. ... show more

FIRST OFF - this thing is heavy! - handles like a barge - and seats are definitely going to break in a short amount of time BUT - it was cheap - very stable - decently comfortable - and it got all of us on the water - so I am happy
