Fits well in either direction but I prefer the cup positioned towards the back to hide or soak dirty silverware. The rack is a nice size for drying glassware or mugs. And the slot running vertically fits Swedish washcloths well. I've had this one a few years and the finish hasn't faded. There is some flex to fit varying sink depths. It does not however fit in the lip of the Kohler Billings sink design, which was a bummer when I bought an additional caddy for another sink. The caddy is easy to clean; I throw it in the dishwasher every once in a while or just wipe it down. Keeps my sink tidy.

I was a little concerned upon reading the reviews and the specifications as to whether this would even fit my sink. I chose to take the risk, as this seemed to check off all of the boxes in terms of what I was looking for (something simple, well constructed from quality materials, takes up little room, has a place for utensils, and looks nice). I was so happy to find that it fit perfectly in my 36" Kohler Whitehaven Farmhouse sink. I had planned to modify the rack, if needed, to make it fit, but luckily that wasn't necessary. The only modification I chose to make was to drill some neat and carefully spaced out drain holes in the cup, as I prefer to use it as a drainer and not a soaker. See the pics to see how it fits my sink and the drain holes I added. FYI: This product is made from stainless steel, and by design, should not rust. If for some reason yours does, there simply has to be a defect or the rust came from something else, which came into contact with the rack.

I've had this for a year and a half now and I really like it. It's sturdy and I've had no issues with rusting or a quality decline in the time I've owned it. I wash it in the dishwasher occasionally and that has presented no problems either. My only complaint is that the cup does not drain so if you're not paying attention, you'll have icky water in the bottom. I drilled a bunch of holes in it so it will drain but you still need to run it through the dishwasher to keep things clean. I use it for a dish brush and small bottle of dish soap. I would not put something I was going to eat from or clean with in it because of the drainage issue.

I purchased this product mainly to dry my dish rag and keep silverware from ending up in the garbage disposal. It’s the perfect solution for the latter. I actually love that the cup does not have holes in it, so utensils can soak before going into the dishwasher. This makes it super easy to remove stuck on food. As far as holding the rag goes, it does a fine job. You cannot quickly place the rag on the bar. So while I’m washing dishes, I usually just set it on the rack part and then fold and put it away when I’m done. Also the rag sits pretty close to the bottom on the sink so if you turn the water on or pour something in the sink it may get on the rag. So you may need to remove it to avoid getting tomato sauce all over your rag. This is only a minor concern, and I still recommend purchasing. The only solution I could imagine is to raise the entire device so it sits flush with the countertop. But that would probably make it less secure and make water pooling on the counter much more probable. My last issue is that you do have to move it to clean out your sink. Food can get under it and it’s difficult to rinse it down the drain with the caddy there. This isn’t the products fault it’s just reality. Overall I think the product is great and you should buy it. I just wanted to point out some issues, so you can decide whether it’s the right solution for you.

The drying rack fits right in the sink, nothing to stick to the sides of the sink, and the caddy can be used to house your sponges when not in use. It looks great and keeps the countertop uncluttered. Highly recommend!

This adjustable metal "rack-strip" works beautifully as a kind of portable shelf that hangs securely across a kitchen sink (with my particular double-sink dimensions, it fits front-to-back, but not side-to-side), suspended a couple of inches above the sink's bottom. I'm seriously considering getting a second one: it serves as a very stable supplementary drying rack for glasses, small pots, wash sponges, but also vertical items such as kitchen knives or spatulas, which can be stood upright through the sensibly spaced latticework of the wire grill. The width is just right for supporting a variety of flat-bottomed items, and the solidity of the structure makes it possible to rest things upright against it when they sit on the sink proper. If I got a second one, the 2 racks side-by-side would create a kind of "mezzanine" level in one of my sinks, allowing for more and larger items to drain handily. Like other customers, I am not so sure about the usefulness of the equally solid and simple removable oval plastic cup designed to fit in the curved end-portion on one side of the rack: because its mouth sits below the lip of the sink, it is likely to collect water, so items cannot be held in it without risking the development of mildew. Even if it had drainage holes (some customers have drilled them in), it is too deep for air to freely circulate through it. I'm planning to place the cup on the counter-top, and use it to hold miscellaneous items. The beauty of this rack is that it takes up very little room, but adds a lot.

The rubber coating on the handles in the picture is likely better than your reality. The rubber on these is actually clear and much thinner. Time will tell how long they'll last. They'd serve themselves well to give inside dimensions, because this was too long to sit inside my sink width wise, which is what I wanted. It's sturdy enough I used my vice to decrease the length of the area where the cup is supposed to go. I could fit the cup if I had too, but they're a useless gimmick to begin with, they don't even have a drain hole. Better to hang brushes etc. on the rack.
