This replacement mattress has held up beautifully. Have had it in use for a year now in a spare room. We put a mattress pad on top and then the sheets and it's a wonderful spare bed. After use, we make it a couch. Looks brand new even after a year.

Some of the reviews made me nervous, but I needed a new cushion. I'm glad I got this one. Not only is the color very nice looking, but the mattress is very comfortable too. Sleeping on it didn't feel like you're stuck on a futon like you'd expect.

Unfortunately I chose the 8 inch width and I don't have the strength to move the futon into it's sitting position. Maybe a thinner mattress is the solution.

I really like this futon, but do have two complaints. 1: the left side of it is constantly sliding, the right side stays basically where I folded it, but the left side needs adjusted daily. 2: as others has said, the little "buttons" holding the mattress together are very hard, and rather sharp. I'm not sure what to do about the button problem, so far I've just been dealing with it. I've napped on the futon a couple times in couch form, have not tried sleeping on it in bed form yet so cannot comment on comfort as a bed. ... show more

    • Seem an ok futon mattress. Know the size your futon frame is designed for.

One "warning" is be prepared for the weight, and how it opens...think pillsbury dinner rolls in the tube...get help if you need it to muscle to where you will open, and to open safely. Not a bad thing, just get help if you need it. Mattress came in a sturdy plastic wrap with minimal punctures, and inside was seriously wrapped in clear plastic. The photo color is a bit brighter and lighter, actual color is totally acceptable, actually prefer it. Construction of material so far is acceptable. Had to move it around and did not notice any tearing, etc. initially. Read reviews about odor. I only noted a momentary odor, dissipated quickly. What I would expect from being wrapped in plastic and what it is made of. Time will tell. Have not yet slept on it so will come back with that input if objectable or not. Will be in use for just 2 weeks so a good test. ... show more
