The futon arrived and I was a little overwhelmed because I thought it was going to be difficult to assemble. I was wrong!! It was super easy. I pur it together in a couple of hours while watching TV. At the end, my husband had to get off the couch and help me. So the final steps will need a second person. But the pieces feel like quality wood. It’s heavy and the color was rich and beautiful!!! I bought this for my home office and it was money well spent. The mattress is going to take some time to settl in the sitting position, but it’s fairly big and very comfortable! The sides come up and down. Do when I am sitting on the futon, I have a place to put my phone, drinks, or a book. I did buy a slip cover to keep dog hair off of the original futon. Nothing but positive things to say about this futon! It is comfy and built to last. Also, it was packaged well, and the instructional video made assembly super easy. Though, you will definetly need to invest in a good allen wrench set before tackling the job. Highly recommend.

The furniture is solid and sturdy. There is damage to the inside of a few pieces of wood but it’s all covered by the mattress. Which so far is nice and comfy. I’ve not used it as a bed yet but I really enjoy the recline position of it. I am a journeyman mechanic but I’m small and injured. Was still able to put it together myself, but did struggle with putting the bed on the frame. I laid it out into a bed and then put the mattress on it then unrolled it from the wrapping. That way I didn’t have to try and wrestle the mattress around fully expanded. I read other reviews saying that was the worst part. This small adjustment made it very simple to get the mattress on the frame. Then I just put it in a seated position and sat down on it to crease the mattress. The drawers are not deep, but I do have 4 blankets and a sheet set in them, so it’s perfect for what I needed them for. Overall, so far, I’d definitely say this was worth the money. I live in a tiny home so measurements were a big thing and this fit perfectly for the space I have!. I did have issues with shipping but I live in the middle of nowhere and there was a snow storm so I’m not gonna complain about that. But only leaving 4 stars because none of the damage could’ve been caused during shipping, as the packaging was superb, so that means they sent it to me damaged and that kinda pisses me off. But not so much I wouldn’t order from them again. ... show more

I purchased this futon and received it about two weeks ago. I havve done a ton of comparative shopping and this is a excellent deal. I have had two other futons before this one. This is by far the best quality, very pleased with this futon. The assembly is pretty easy but it does take some time to assemble. I suggest doing what I did and watch the online video,,, I didn't even have to read the instructions. The futon is very comfortable when using it in the couch position. It is also very comfortable to sleep on, the mattress is more firm which I happen to like. I did find it fairly difficult to fold back into the couch position from the bed position. I then discovered another Kodiak video on youtube showing how to fold the bed back, special hand placement,, and it made a world of difference. Over all I am extremely pleased with this purchase. The futon is sturdy, comfortable and looks great. I have had compliments from several family and friends. I would recommend purchasing this futon, I doubt you will regret it. ... show more

From unboxing, the materials and parts were well protected with enough foam and plastic wrapping that even though there were a few dents to the boxes during shipping, the parts inside were not damaged. Also appreciate how they labeled and separated the hardware into easy to use during the assembly process. The video instructions were concise and super easy to follow. I was able to put it all together by myself within two hours. The process of folding and unfolding the futon is a little on the “need some muscle” side Due to the sheer weight of the mattress. As a sofa, it’s very comfortable. As a bed, it’s very much on the firm side. I’ll be getting a memory foam topper to suit my need for more of a pliable feel when sleeping on it. I wanted a multifunctional piece of furniture for a space that is used for a few different purposes. This futon fit the bill for what I was looking for. Let’s talk about the cons first-came with missing pieces, instructions were kind of hard to follow at times, definitely a two person job. This is a heavy piece of furniture, it does slide nicely on wood floors, but it can be a pain when converting back to a sofa. I left the railing sitting against a table while waiting for the rollers to be replaced and noticed some paint transferring. For the money spent I’m a bit disappointed with the paint as well as the wood is a bit soft and easily damaged, the round bits for covering the screw holes are all varying degrees in shape and size so only a few actually fit and stay in the holes, most are too small and fall out. The pros-customer service was grade A, super helpful and had the part to me quickly-had tracking number within minutes, what I couldn’t figure out from the generic printout I was able to visually see in their YouTube video assembly. This is a great comfy futon. I like being able to change the positions for comfort. Overall this is a comfortable and fairly easy build, if you have all the parts. ... show more
