If you carefully read the instructions, the futon isn't that difficult to assemble. It's a pretty physical process, but the instructions are very clear and helpful. Just slow down and make sure you fully understand each step before proceeding. This futon is incredible. I bought the queen size and it's rather large, but obviously very strong and well built. The cushion is very comfortable just as it is. We plan to add a foam topper for when it is used as a bed for guests to take it to the next level. It was so easy to put together, it took two of us but the directions were straightforward and easy to follow. It’s very solidly built, feels and looks expensive, and it is the perfect size! I’m 5’11” and my feet don’t hang off the end when I sleep! It’s super comfy for sitting and sleeping! This is a very sturdy futon. It isn't hard to put together but it is time-consuming. Expect to take two or more hours. It is especially difficult alone, but not impossible. I am happy with the way it looks, how sturdy it is, and the overall comfort of the mattress. What I do NOT like is that the video shows it is very simple to push at the seam and lift the back and fold it right up into a sitting position. That's a joke. Two mornings in a row, I've tried to do that and it doesn't budge. I've had to drag the very heavy mattress off of the frame, fold it up, and then lug the mattress back into place. It takes me twenty minutes and is not safe to do in your bare feet - trust me on this. I'm going to use bar soap and try to lubricate the joints where the frame slides up and down. I am going to try using ratchet tie-downs to lift the back end while I move the front side and see if it can be done without moving the mattress completely off, but I'm not hopeful. ... show more

I have been using this as my bed and couch for 4 months. As a bed, it works great! It's comfortable and sturdy. As a couch, I find the seat angle to be too severe. I would prefer a flatter seat portion, but it is a minor complaint. I'm happy with my purchase, and would recommend it to anyone else living in a very small space who needs furniture that is multi-functional. ... show more

After a long search with chose this Futon, it looks great, easy to open and close, the mattress has good stability, fits two adults comfortably and works real well it a smaller room that doubles as an office with a comfortable couch.

I honestly don’t know what the good reviews are about this. First off, the actual couch is a different color from what is in the photos. It’s not so much on the navy side as it is on the green side. Secondly, the wood is very poor quality, maybe they just don’t make good furniture now them days. I have it side-by-side with my other futon that was made 40 years ago and you can see that the wood that they used for this futon is the cheapest possible wood. Dents very easily, already has a scratch whereas my other futon has almost no dents after years. Lastly, it’s simply unsafe. My plan was to use it as a futon while I recover from my birth, and to lay my baby on it occasionally, but I don’t think I can. Today I tried to get off of it from the side, and the entire thing flipped! I’m glad I found out about this before my baby was born and that I never laid her on it. (I’m also not that fat either, I’m only 150 pounds.) No bedframe should be flipping over just for me simply getting off of it from the side. And my other futon does not do that, so I don’t buy the narrative that this is just a futon thing. I’m sad to say, that I didn’t realize how bad this futon was until I fully assembled it and I can’t return it now that it’s fully assembled nor do I get the option of returning it. Even in mint condition, I would have to pay for the shipping. I’m stuck with this piece of garbage. 🗑️ ... show more

I have had many futons...but this is the most difficult to pull in and out. The mattress weighs a ton and there are no handles to set it in position. It'd also very uncomfortable mattress. Trying to put a protector on takes 30 mins of tugging, pulling etc. It cannot be opened or closed with ease so guests just leave it open defeating the spacer feature. It is pretty and was easy to assemble which is why I gave it 2 stars. ... show more
