I ordered it on Sunday, and it was delivered on Thursday by UPS. It arrived in three separate cartons: Frame, armrests, mattress. I wanted a futon for my sunporch, which is long and narrow, so furniture placement is important. I used Amazon Home Services to assemble it, and was able to select the day and time that was convenient for me. The price for this was about $88, and with tax it came to $95.00. Two people arrived within the scheduled time, and had it done in just over an hour. All the parts were included, as well as a little assembly tool. They also flattened the cartons and took them up to our condo dumpster. I was not charged until the assembly was completed and was also asked to do an evaluation. I would certainly use this service again! It sure made it easy and convenient for me! This futon is super comfortable! I had a flatscreen mounted on the opposite wall, so the grandkids will have some entertainment when they visit. It’s comfortable enough to nap on without pulling it out, and The fabric is very sturdy. After spending weeks researching futons, I’m so glad I got this one! ... show more

After buying and returning probably the worst futon on the planet, I researched for weeks trying to find a decent futon that one could actually sleep on comfortably. I went with this one, based on the great reviews. It is solid wood, very well made and just about as comfortable as a bed. The directions say that two people are required to put it together, however I put it together by myself in 1 hour and 45 minutes. Directions were clear and all went smoothly. I ordered the brown and they sent me the grey, but even with that pretty big error, I just put a sheet on it and still give it 5 stars! ... show more

This took us 4 hours to put together. The instructions were just pictures so we made a couple of mistakes! It is very heavy so assemble where you plan to keep it. It fit perfectly in the space we had. It was a gift to my Dad for his loft to give him an extra guest room. It is sturdy and well made. Attractive piece of furniture. The mattress is quite thick . Firm but comfortable. Easily sleeps 2 adults. My Dad is 6 ft tall . See pic . The color was supposed to be tan but was actually gray. It matched his room better anyway. ... show more

I got the sofa bed (Futon) this afternoon. I live alone, so I have to do everything alone. And to let Everyone know, if you are fairly fit, you can put this together alone, as long as you take your time, and are careful. For now, the only improvement I could see is for the manufacturer to somehow put some kind of crease in the mattress where it is supposed to fold. The best idea I have is to just make two mattress halves, and then join them strongly enough to ensure they cannot separate.. What I had to do is drag the mattress onto the frame, and put enough of it over the front edge, and then force tuck the rest into place. This unit has a lot of tilt in the back, so you are going to have to invest in several thick sofa pillows if you want to lean back, unless you like leaning way back. I wish that Amazon would place the colour mattress that they describe in the picture, instead of a generic picture. I thought I was ordering a lighter brown one, and ended up with a stone gray one. The picture was light brown, which was why I made the mistake. What the heck, I will just live with the colour., as I have no way to ship the unit back, and I will not be able to receive a replacement due to upcoming heart surgery. The Futon is in case I do have someone who can stay with me for a few days while I recover from that surgery. Overall, I do like the design. Never owned a Futon set, but from what I see, I like it. It should be good enough in case I do have a visitor that needs something to sleep on. I've just discovered one problem. It seems that the mattress is so heavy that it does not allow me to pull on the frame to lower it into the bed configuration. It may be that because of my arthritis that I don't have the strength to do that. I had to remove the mattress, then lower the frame, then put the mattress back on the frame. ... show more

    • Comfortable and looks good
We're pretty happy with it so far. Originally bought one from a local retail store that was like sitting on bricks so we decided to spend twice as much and get this one. It got delivered a day ahead of schedule. The instructions were good and assembly was easy doing it by myself. Heres a tip for anybody assembly this thing solo. The last step tells you to connect the crossmembers to both armrest pieces leaving it loose enough to slide the entire folding assembly down into the slots, then tighten. I don't see how this would be possible by yourself. The easy thing to do is attach the cross members to one arm rest, tighten it down then stand the entire thing upright. Pick up and place the folding section into place (standing up), then put the other arm rest piece on top, line it up, throw in the bolts, then lower it down. Easy and quick. There is one issue with the instructions, nowhere does it say to install the brackets that support the cross members at the armrest. Easy to figure out though. As others have said, it's not the easiest to transition between the bed and upright positions. That's just the nature of the mattress though, the heavier it is, the harder it will be. Me and my wife together can do it with no problem though. It's very comfortable in both positions, just have to see how long it holds up. ... show more
