Got the white, with the spring hinged mattress. Also got the drawers. Overview: the frame is decent, the wood is mediocre quality. The frame is is made in Indonesia, where a ton of hardwood furniture is made. The biggest issue is the low quality hardware. Ive been assembling furniture for many years and seen the same cheap hardware that has been used for the last 30 years. It could be improved. I had one buggered thread, and one huge paint glob that required filing, otherwise it assembled without too much drama. You do need 2 people to do the final assembly. The drawers really need some kind of bracketry, they roll on the floor under the sofa without any attachment. The finish is good and seems durable. Came in 4 boxes, packaging was barely adequate, but that is the trend - cheap out on packaging and send free replacement for shipper damaged items. The boxes are large and too heavy for many people too lift alone. I would not want to haul them up a flight or two of stairs. The mattress is made in the USA, we got the hinged coil spring with a velour type cover. The cover is nice, no complaints. Nitpicking: some of the wood had imperfections, besides the paint issue mentioned above. I noticed some pockmarking and splitting. Yes wood is a natural product, but furniture is supposed to use selected woods. They hid the bad spots, so they don't show. The spring rate in the mattress is too soft. I'm 160lbs and it is noticeably saggy/soft feeling. If you are a heavy person, these will compress and I doubt you will be very comfortable while sitting. I've had a few futons, and the mattress is always a compromise, get it firm enough to sit on and its too hard for sleeping. The frame is the arch-typical 1x3 construction, which keeps costs down. Its a futon, not fine furniture, but using a bigger frame material and better joinery and hardware would go a long way. Using glue in the joints during assemble should be mentioned as an additional step to made the frame more stable. The hinged mattress does not seem to have a specific top or bottom, one would think it should, but we can't figure it out. Kudos: the instructions and hardware packages are both excellent. The color coding assembly instructions make assembly relatively painless. Comes with allen wrenches, you may need a mallet. You can tell that the instructions were edited/created by a native English speaker. I was a professional mechanic/assembler for 20+ years, and I have seen some atrocious instructions, so THANK YOU Kodiak, for having done this well. This gets four stars because its not an economy futon, but is still using economy engineering and hardware. Most people won't notice, but a pro mechanic or furniture maker will pick up on the undersized hardware, the UN-reinforced joints, etc. I still think its a decent value, and recommend this.

The media could not be loaded. First off, this item is not white white. It's is a shade of white called Antique White with has a yellow tone and is basically a cream color. I didn't feel like hauling back to get returned as they were extremely heavy boxes and mattress roll. So four cans of white satin spray paint later and I'm ready to install it with the four differently enclosed sets of similar parts in two conspicuous colors (*why it's all not one inconspicuous color such as silver in one nearly labeled set baffles me) After many bruises and back pain starting to increase, hubby and I managed to get the frame on but needed our legs to act as a third person to get the side to fit and hold the mattress bases rollers. So, after that was done, let's put the mattress on.... ...maybe. After unrolling the mattress was so stiff that getting it to go on the futon frame was the hardest part of all. Once we got the wrapping off, it expanded with such force we weren't prepared for. Between the two of us, we were barely strong enough to get the mattress formed to an angle, but it wasn't staying and kept popping up, so we needed to drag heavy items in front so it formed the shape. How long we have to keep it like this I have no idea. As for the rolling drawers, they are not in any sort of track system and just sittl freely under the bed. They don't roll on the shag carpet we have as the wheels are only 1/3 exposed. It's basically just an expensive under the bed storage. I would have been better off just getting an under bed storage tote and getting getting the cheaper version. For this much money and this much effort I should have went with an Ikea daybed that was already in white and have draws that rolls on a track with enough height for a shag carpet. Only good thing about this futon is the mattress is thick, but at this point it may not be a good thing.....

If you order a white item, you expect it to be white. I ordered this for a room that we just built and it's white and gray, this item is cream, ivory, off white, whatever you'd like to call it but not white. I needed it within a day of it coming so now I guess I'm stuck with it and have to take the time, eventually to paint it white, which I'm not happy about at all. It's sturdy. Cushion is thick. Not easy for me to transition the positions of it by myself. Upright position is slightly reclined, then it reclines a little more and lays flat. For the money I'm not thrilled.

I purchased this futon couch with the additional storage drawers underneath. We live in a very small cabin and I have to say this item is just PERFECT. Easy to assemble. Very thick and comfortable mattress. (2) End tables attached AND (2) storage drawers. How can you go wrong with this all-in-one unit. I was hesitant to buy and kept this futon in my watch list for weeks because I thought it was a little pricey but I am here to say it is WORTH IT! Super fast shipping, came in 4 boxes so make sure you get all your boxes upon delivery.

I love the idea of this sofa. The style and quality is fantastic also. However, the mattress slips constantly. Also...i have given up on trying to make it function into a bed and back into a sofa again. I just bought a house for my children and me. It's only 2 bedrooms, which I have given to them. This futon is my bed. I sleep decently on it.. getting used to it as time goes on. I simply wish that it was more user friendly. I also wish the mattress would stay in sofa form without constantly slipping down outa place. It's been 3 week's now and im thinking of getting carpet tape to put under it and tape it to its frame.

The video the company provides makes it easy to follow and assemble the futon. It took a while to assemble, but it was well worth the time. It is very comfortable and sturdy. The pad has springs in it, so I find it just as/ or more comfortable as any couch. I bought with the drawers. They are very nice, sturdy, and roll open easily. So glad I bought it, well worth money.
