I ordered the regular size and at first I was a little disappointed in the size. Mostly the height of the pillow. It wasn’t tall enough to support my head the way I like. I’ve been through a few inflatable pillows and never found them particularly comfortable. I could get the height dialed in, but they never felt soft enough fully inflated. I had a eureka moment. Friends, I have cracked the pillow code and in so doing solved a camping problem that has plagued me for decades. I went through the linen closet and found a narrow pillow case, one that could accommodate both the klymit and a slightly larger inflatable. Placing the inflatable underneath allowed me to dial in the perfect height. The klymit is so soft and comfortable on top, it feels great. If I fully inflate, I can actually sit up comfortably enough to read and when I’m ready to sleep, I simply let some air escape. It’s perfect. The pillow case is snug enough to keep them together through the night and I never wake up to readjust anything. Everything packs down nice in my dry bag. This hack moved the pillow from 3 to 5 stars. I’ll be using this combo the rest of my canoe camping career. ... show more

I never thought I’d brag about a camping pillow, but the Klymit Drift absolutely deserves the love. The shredded memory foam gives just the right balance of support and squish, and it doesn’t flatten out like those inflatable ones. I use it for overlanding trips, and it’s become a must-pack item whether I’m in my truck camper or tent. The washable outer shell is rugged but soft, and it looks pretty sleek too. I just received this pillow in the large size. It is extremely comfortable and can pack down for travel, but unlike the pictures depicted and some older youtube videos showed, it did not come with a velcro strap to help pack it down. I think a stuff sack to pack it into the cylinder shape it comes packaged as would be better anyway. I think any kind of pacakable/camp/travel pillow should come with a means to pack it smaller. If it’s came with a stuff sack I would have given it 5 stars. This pillow is too large for backpacking in my opinion, but perfect for car camping. I bought it for car camping and because I need a pillow while staying in a yurt on a backcountry ski touring trip. I want to be more comfortable than my smaller backpacking pillows allow without a hammock and this will do the trick. ... show more

Update: 5-3-25. Bought 12-24 I love this pillow so bloody much that I've bought two more. Granted i found them at Sierra trading post for $20 so I couldn't pass them up! I also took the filling from one and instead filled the sleeve with stuffing from a previous pillow that was beyond comfy and it has been an even bigger game changer!!! The fact that you can roll these up so the pillow case side stays clean and free of dog hair while still leaving the pillows useful for said doggo is amazing! I like the canvas side for the topographical print but also for it's durability and ability to change from one side to the other without hassle is fantastic! If you want a good camping pillow then look no further than the Klymit foam pillow as it'll serve you so much better than any inflatable and last much longer too, plus the foam works as a good fire starter in an emergency 😁. Not literally as if it has actual rocks in it...😅 This pillow has replaced my existing pillows and I've kept those old uncomfortable bastards close by the bed so they know they've failed me and have been replaced!!! The fact that it has a built in water proof cover that doubles as a soft pillowcase in moments is next level!!! I got the large because I'm a full time van lifer and have been searching high and low for a good pillow that won't get dirty on adventures in the mountains or deserts while still offering comfort when bedtime comes around!!! Wife and I like these. They compact down to a small size. They offer good support and not soft and thin. Look cool. Functional. These are our go to pillows when exploring and car camping. I’m in a two door bronco so space is premium and these are perfect. Use for lower back support when driving long roads. She sleeps on it in car and tent. Good value for money.
