Top Amazon Reviews

  • For the price, not bad.
**UPDATE: 03/08/22** 15 months and she is still holding up! Still as fit for duty as Day 1. **ORIGINAL REVIEW** I’m going to preface this review by stating that (with the exception of my sound system) I am going exceptional low budget, and willing to utilize very inexpensive/cheap price and quality products that, as long as they are taken care of nicely, will simply do the job. If my studio needs were more mobile, or under more dynamic or harsh conditions, I would be looking at the more expensive product lines offered out here on Amazon. With that, I chose this product To compare with it’s apparent Amazon competitor, the SHAWE brand. Turns out they are the exact same item, right down to the factory box and base barcode sticker. I chose to keep this one because the coupon purchase price ended up being cheaper. As Well, I also compared it to the gooseneck holders that have the more decorative plastic base look. Although not as pretty, this unit’s base is more utilitarian in appearance, but at least you know what is or is not going on when you’re clamping it to different surfaces. The main frame of the clamp feels and appears to be machined steel. overall it’s pretty sturdy. But I didn’t realize at first, but really appreciate now, is that there is a threaded hole on the top and side of this clamp, giving you two different directions you can send the gooseneck out of. It’s Achilles’ Heel, however, is the screw knob and the flat disc in the clamp assembly. Both do not feel anywhere near as sturdy as the rest of the construction: the screw knob actually feels like cheap plastic. Because it’s going to pretty much stay in one place, this will not be an issue for me. If I was going to be constantly changing locations, I might think twice about keeping it – or I would be mentally prepared to be changing locations very carefully – assuming that breakage of the knob could occur. For me this is also not an issue, as for my present office/studio set up I am going hyper cheap for my base set up. (In the photo, all lighting, tripods, and electronic supports - except The sound system - have run me under $100. Lots of cheap stuff, But it stays put and does the job for now.) In terms of the gooseneck itself - WA! Pardon the sexist overtone: but if you are a sissy-boy/girly-man/watered down latte drinking/only-go-to-the-beach-to-get-sand-kicked-in-your-face kind of guy, this may not be the device for you if you want to twist this gooseneck in anything other than the shape it came in. This thing is designed to stay in place once you get it somewhere, and it’s going to arm wrestle you as you try to bend it. To get it in the exact shape I wanted it, it took me about five minutes of mild wrangling. Part of that much time was because I did not want to put torque pressure on the thread screws that go into the holder, and I certainly didn’t want to apply any twisting pressure to the plastic ball and Cap That attach to the holder for your electronic device. Bad end is also fairly inexpensive plastic. As long as you know what you’re getting, and treat it with care, I could definitely see where this thing would last quite a bit. If you’re going to beat up on it a lot, buy a second one because you’re gonna need it pretty soon. One downside to the gooseneck is that as you pick your final location, you’ll need to potentially check to see if neck is going to relax at all. If you look at my photo, you’ll see that my gooseneck comes horizontal out of the holder and then downward. As I tried to bring my iPad screen more forward from the wall it was obvious that the gooseneck wanted to rotate back. It took a little bit of physics, and some additional tweaking to get it so it would settle approximately where I wanted it. As I mentioned earlier, I’m setting up my initial live streaming projects intentionally on a teeny tiny budget. Thus I’m willing to accept cheaper or inferior quality level parts or products as long as they perform their job properly if treated with care. If your situation is going to be more on the ruffian side of things, I would Suggest you go with the mantra “you get what you pay for “and look at the higher priced gooseneck systems out here. ... show more

  • Best Cell Phone/Tablet Stand!!!!
I bought one for my desk at work due to tech neck issues. We have a VOIP phone system and answer on an app on our cell phones. I love it! And ended up ordering two more for home. At work, I use a stylus to answer or make calls. No sitting with my head down all day. It holds both phone and tablet very sturdy and swivels and tilts very smoothly on a ball type joint. There is a slot on the bottom of the clasp to insert a charger cord. Height is adjustable (from 7" to 13 1/2" desktop to bottom of phone. Heavy metal base with rubber pad on the bottom. This is a great choice! ... show more

  • Heavy and sturdy.
The clamp has two places to choose from to install your arm. That was a surprise to me. I thought I'd read the whole advertised features list. The clamp and arm are both heavy and sturdy. That said, the arm is very difficult to bend. It's very stiff. That is not a complaint. I have a gooseneck stand for my phone and it's very floppy, easily bendable, but it doesn't stay in place. Not so with these gooseneck tablet holders. They do not move enough to cause concern. They will stay where you put them, IFF you consider gravity and the direction of the threads. What I mean is that it started to unscrew when I was trying to manipulate it. That could easily be fixed by installing it a different way. The surface that the unit is attached to must be very sturdy itself, else the clamp cannot be tightened enough to keep it from falling with the weight of the arm. These are not problems for me. I managed to resolve all issues by installing it somewhere else. They are things you may need to consider, however. I would purchase these again, in a heartbeat, if I hadn't already purchased 5, which are installed everywhere around the house and I still need more. ... show more

  • Buy it now! Don't even think about going anywhere else.
Okay, so I don't leave very many reviews on here, as there are already a lot. I buy a lot of stuff on Amazon and don't write here. However, this product is completely amazing! I don't buy game consoles anymore or a TV. I use my tablet for homework, TV, and to play cod mobile. I used earthing to get my tablet set up and nothing worked good. This stand is amazing. I can put it on my headboard or on the coffee table just like the pics here. I can move it to make it perfect for me. Depending if I'm watching a TV or playing COD or firtbite. This stand is very durable. For 17 bucks it's to cheap. I would have honestly paid 50 for this. I'm going to order a second one for my phone as well now. Very sturdy, made very well. People who said on here it broke the part that holds the tablet, it's the metal ball join that needs to go in. Yes that part is not super hard or metal like the rest but it's also not cheap or flimsy. Just doing treat it like it's wall. Don't shave so hard or honestly I have no idea how people broke those. Its very well made. Takes about 30 seconds to put it together. Buy it. You will live it. ... show more

  • Worked great, until it broke. They stood by their product.
My son has been using this for remote learning with his iPad. It worked great. It was very sturdy and held the iPad well. After a little over a month, the product broke while he was adjusting it. The plastic piece that held the iPad broke off. Even though a piece of plastic broke, I can put it back together but now the springs are not attached so the pieces that hold the iPad don't offer resistance to hold it in place. The arm of this thing was great and very sturdy but the piece that holds the iPad, which we never removed, broke from a 6 year old adjusting the angle. I expected this to last a lot longer than one month. Follow up: I contacted the company and they refunded the full amount. Impressed with the customer service. The product neck was very sturdy so before it broke, it worked great. Might buy another and see if the last one was a fluke. ... show more
