  • Superb sound quality but lacking rear volume control
Upon setup ive noted a few things.. The first being the sound quality is superb. Absolutely superb at 660 watts. My old system was the LG SKM5Y with rear surround speakers. I believe this was over 300 watts. At double the sound output it shakes my entire first floor. The second thing i noticed was how easy it was to set up. No wires to connect the rears as it is all Bluetooth. No receiver for the rears unlike other brands and units. Setup totaled 24 minutes despite one hiccup which I get to at my third. My third finding was that this unit did not come with an optical cable. It provides an HDMI out cable and while thats great and all, does not fot with current tv models which omit HDMI out in favor of a digital optical slot. As this model did not come with said cable I had to rush out and grab one which resulted in a pause in setup. My fourth finding was that although the subwoofer has excellent volume control, there is no treble or rear speaker control. This acts as one whole unit instead of opting for customization of sound. Alas I'm overall thrilled with Klipsch and their superior systems and cant be upset about a silly cable or volume buttons when this knocks every other system out of the water. ... show more

  • Great for a while..
This setup sounds great. The problem is it does not last. I have now gone through 2 of these. Same thing happens. First one lasted 7 or so months. This one a little over a year. Works perfect until it just dies. Little bit of static/crackle, drive yourself nuts trying to figure it out, unplug it to reboot it, and then it never works again. For almost $1000, this should not happen. I will never buy another Klipsch product again. Really sucks because it was a great system while it lasted. Both times. ... show more

  • As a whole, a really good, wireless soundbar system.
I had been waiting to upgrade my ten year old 3.1 soundbar system with wireless back channels. The back channel speakers add a necessary level of treble to the sound as well as rounding out the presence. The system is good enough to make very clear how limited the fidelity is in most DVD, streaming and cable audio. I had to go to a Loreena McKennitt CD to really tell how good it is. I am not into window rattling volumes but the wattage seems quite capable of bringing complaints from the neighbors. At my age (78) I am not sure how good my hearing is so I can't comment on the final accuracy of the sound. I did look it up on a testing website and the frequency response plot was much better in length than most of the competition although there were a number of humps in the middle that I would just as soon not see there. I am not sure I can hear them. Most of the soundbar systems I reviewed seemed to have the low bar of "better than TV speakers" but this system took a stab at full fidelity. I really enjoy how much fidelity the system provides at low levels: the highs and lows hang right in there! Here are a couple of cautions. My system arrived with all speakers on max volume. You might want to figure out how to turn it down before hooking up an audio source. The system could not be easier to set up if you know what to connect. The biggest challenge was figuring out which power cord went with which box. Once it was powered up everything came on without additional intervention. The documentation that comes with the system is worse than pathetic beyond basic hookup. Klipsch does have decent documentation online if you search for it. It was quite helpful since the system relies on colored lights to monitor settings and arcane buttons on the remote. I did have to add an HDMI switch to my TV as I have four devices. It, too, just worked as expected. Two months later. I guess it makes some sense to reset adjustments to options each time you power up, and it does make me more aware. Boosting the back channels really cleans up the highs. Boosting the bass a little seems to fill in some midrange. When I get it tuned, I am quite happy although my remote mute remains finicky. It likes to bounce if I push firmly which really confuses things. It is also easy to press on a volume button and miss the mute. In general, my remote seems to have a beam pattern deflected up a bit and the detector won't detect if the remote is more than maybe 15 degrees to the right of center. I am just now getting confident in it from fifteen feet away. ... show more

  • Soundbar fails to perform
Surround speakers turn on and off. Main sound bar produces lots of static. Remote control complicated to use - too many combination of buttons to push. Originally was a 4.8 rating review, now a 3.4. Sound bar was great 1st year but then got worse. Not worth the amount of money this costs! Not recommended. ... show more

  • Easy hook up
There is no wires for rear or woofer speakers. Easy hook up and sound quality is great ! The controls of surround sound is hard to get used too and the instructions are almost understandable. Now that I have used it for several months, the remote leaves a lot to be desired. The center is a mute button but it might take four or more times to engage. It also can raise the folume when you push it. Other buttons don't work well either. That has been the only problem I have had. I love the sound ! ... show more

  • Quality sound. Quality construction. No regrets.
Leagues better than what I had. When I played a documentary of the Amazon rainforest to test the speakers, I had a big smile on my face!

  • Great when it lasted...which wasn't long
Had purchased this about 2.5 years ago. It was great for a little over a year before the soundbar suddenly failed to ever turn on. Klipsch honored a replacement despite being past the 1 year factory warranty and sent out a new/or refurbished (wasn't clear) soundbar and subwoofer. The replacement only lasted 8 months before the soundbar started to struggle with sending signal to the sub and rear speakers and began losing sound itself. I had purchased an extended warranty through Asurion, who I sent the unit off to for repair. They deemed it unrepairable and gave me a full refund. This definitely put me off Klipsch sound systems for the future, and I think I'll stick to brick-n-mortar stores for my home audio since the shipping was a major inconvenience. ... show more

  • Good sound...
Good sound, really brings out the movies. Woofer not so powerful but it does its job. 1 thing that really irks me is that I noticed the lights on the remote come on and off constantly. Like every minute. For no reason. It's annoying and drains the battery fast.
