From my observation, most little girls love both crafting and headbands. I've not seen a kit like this before and so far, like it. The kit contains materials to make 8 simple, satin-covered headbands in a variety of colors and designs as well as 2 flower crowns. The decorations include flowers, bunny ears, bows, gem stickers, butterflies, pom poms & ribbon. There's a nicely done pamphlet to show how to make bows and attach all the items to the headbands. This is not a cookie-cutter set; the pamphlet shows how to make the attachments but the child will design their headband on their own. The headbands themselves are child-sized (?about ages 5-8?). The listing states that the target ages are 6-12 which is true in theory and abilities BUT by age 12, most girls will have long-since outgrown these headbands. I am not sure how well the flower bands will hold up but they are certainly worth a try. I believe this kit would be good for birthday parties, sleepovers and such. An adult might need to be in the vicinity to get younger kids in the swing but older ones will likely catch on quickly and not need adult assistance. ... show more

My daughter saw this and couldn’t get it out of the package fast enough, I almost didn’t get a picture. This kit came with quite a bit of stuff to make headbands, enough for my daughter and her friend to make three apiece anlready and there’s lots left over. This would be the absolute perfect gift for a little girls birthday party, sending it to a granddaughter or prize for accomplishing whatever task. Honestly I will probably order more of these to give out as gifts. My daughter loves the fact that she was able to make something that she had just seen at the store and customize it just for herself. I think about this kit is that it accommodates all types of dressing up, you can be a hippie, a rabbit, or completely go crazy with Pom poms! Everything in this kit seems to be very well-made, good quality headbands. The crafts and extra pieces are also very cute and well-made. This kit comes with plenty of accessories to create different headbands as well as detailed instructions on how to create a variety of styles. Kids can follow the directions or use their creativity to design their own. My seven year old niece enjoyed this kit and both followed the directions and created her own headbands. Although the kit states that it is suitable for children 5+, I found that adult assistance is needed, especially if attempting to follow the directions to create the bows, which even I found confusing. Also, the double sided tape was very difficult to remove from the backing, which also necessitated my helping her. The tape is not an ideal adhesive, especially for an accessory like the unicorn horn which is larger and needs to stand upright. I understand this is meant as a kids’ craft and durability is not the priority, but if your child would like to wear these more than a few times and you want to extend the durability, the accessories are best affixed with a glue gun. Also, the larger flowers still have the plastic area where the stem would be attached, making it hard to attach the flowers to the headband since it gets in the way. The ears in the kit I received were also a bit dingy on the sides. All in all, this kit is a good way to keep kids entertained and encourage creativity. It’s worth purchasing if you can buy it at the sale price of $10, but is overpriced at the regular $20 price. ... show more

    • Includes lots of stuff, age range more like 6-7, be ready to use a glue gun
This kit is fair. Some of the flowers have wire for wrapping around the headbands, but most of the stuff wants you to use a double-sided tape (provided), and yeah that's not staying on at all, so we use hot glue. The instructions on how to add everything are in detail, and there are lots of pieces. The headbands are fit for a normal sized child, and are about 1/4 inch thick. The age range for this is kit is kinda weird because the 5 year old does not have enough dexterity and patience to make these, but she's the one who will wear them. The 9 year old will make them and has fun doing it, but is not going to wear them. So I would say the age range would start around 6. This kit is seems high priced at $20, but definitely worth it at $10. ... show more

They pack a lot of stuff in the box... so much fun and creativity to be had. I am watching two girls for a week this summer and wanted something to keep them occupied while giving them something to remember our adventures together. I ran across this and it did not disappoint. I may even get in on the fun and make myself one too!! I call dibs on the unicorn horn!! So many options, so much color, texture.. the girls are really going to love this.     • Cute kit but needs a better way to attach items
If I loosen up the glue dots then my 6 year old neice can do this independently (which is great!), however if she doesnt align the accessories up perfectly, her hair gets stuck in the exposed part of the glue dots. I thought about it for a while and honestly can't think of another suggestion for attaching them though! One kit makes 8 headbands and 2 flower branch rings so it's a good set for multiple children as well. Overall we really enjoyed using this kit and it's a really good activity to do together. Comes in a cute box so it would be perfect for gifting! If the half off coupon stays up then I think this is a good value, but otherwise I'd say the price is pretty high for what you get. I did this craft kit with my 4yr and 7yr granddaughters. They had a lot of fun creating headbands they can wear. The fastening dots were easy to apply and held very well. Some of the items fell apart a little, but you could just use the dots rather than the wire twist (fell off flowers). The instructions to make a bow were a little difficult to follow; especially for my 7yr old granddaughter. This was a fun activity and I loved seeing their creativity while making these. I would recommend this kit and my granddaughters actually wear the headbands they created. I hope this review has been helpful ... show more
