My nieces (ages 7 and 8) absolutely loved this gift! Has everything needed for hours of creative fun, and I love how the dresses came out. They did find some aspects challenging like cutting certain fabrics and pushing them into the mannequin, so adult help was needed. Great if you’re there to help, if getting this as a solo gift an older age like 9 or 10 would probably be better.

I bought this for my niece (10), and she loved it. So did I! We used a marker to trace the dress pattern onto the material. We used a cake board underneath to keep the marker from marking up the table. You’ll need scissors that will cut the material, and although it came with two sided tape, I found that some glue dots that I had on hand worked better. The backing on the included tape was difficult to remove. This set had lots of beautiful materials, bows, and ribbons to choose from. No real sewing was required, but if you wanted to teach a simple straight stitch, this would be a great place to start. What a wonderful set to use to teach basic sewing techniques and design concepts! However, that doesn’t have to be the focus at all. Kids and adults will enjoy playing with this set.

My child had a great time designing outfits, using the variety of pieces, and trying them on the mannequins. It kept her engaged for quiet a while day 1 and encouraged thinking and fine motor skills. The only reason I’m giving four stars is that some of the smaller pieces are a bit tricky to handle and can get lost easily as they just come in a plastic bag which when opened, is useless so they float around the box freely. Otherwise, it’s a great value for hours of imaginative play and makes a wonderful birthday gift.

Great kit. My daughter loved it, she's 8. The kit has many pieces of fabric and accessories. The mannequins make it look very "professional". She even made a runway out of boxes for them. Very easy to use, and promotes creativity.

I bought this for my 4.5 and 5.75 year olds because they’re always making makeshift clothes for their Barbie’s out of whatever they can find. They’re able to do it with my help, and they absolutely love it! We have not tried using the needle and thread yet, but I’ve been putting the double sided tape on the cloth to hold the pieces together, and that way you can tailor them a bit to different dolls (Barbie vs Skipper etc) after taking them off the mannequin. The clothing patterns help a lot - I just bought some sharp craft scissors to make cutting the fabric easier. Love this product, just wish there weren’t quite so many small pieces of glittery things to attach to the cloth - my kids love them though! The photos are what my 5.75 year old made.

This was not as great as I had hoped it would be. There’s no way to take the clothes off the mannequin and have them stay together, no sewing instructions, nada. My kiddo was hoping to make wearable clothes for her dolls and this doesn’t cut it.
