This snorkel/mask set is so much better and easier for kids to use vs the goggles and snorkel separate. Has a nice seal around the mask that prevents water from getting in. It’s also supposed to move the shark fin up to block the water from going in the air hole and accidentally sucking water in, but I can’t see it move at all. Not sure if it’s a defect one off thing or if the manufacturer put that on the card stock that comes with the mask/snorkel but lied. Really weird. It’s very easy for my son to take on and off, you’ll have to adjust the straps for them at first, to get that nice seal around the face. Overall I’d say it’s okay but it’s definitely easier for kids! ... show more

My daughter can finally wear this mask as her head is now just big enough to fit the lower end of the size requirement, yay! It's a fun design but more importantly very functional without the separate goggle and mouthpiece with adult snorkel gears. The all-in-one design means they can just breathe normally through their nose, or mouth if they want, without thinking about the how and just enjoy being under water. The breathing tube is easy to setup, and the instructions says to not be afraid to push down hard to form a tight seal, it feels solidly constructed and shouldn't break in use. There's also a float at the top of the breathing tube that prevents water from flowing into the mask, so no need to clear the tube as you emerge from water, again, not having to think or do anything special is great for a 4 year old to just focus on having fun. Water invariably find its way in one way or another but the manufacturer has thought of that too: there's drainage at the bottom of the mask that is activated by just lifting the head, simple. The part of the mask that contacts the face is made with food grade silicon, while I have no way to verify, it is very soft and supple to the touch and there is no horrible smell which is great and more than I can say for some recent food grade silicon purchases. While the headband is easy to adjust to get a comfortable but secure fit. I suspect I'm not putting it on tight enough because it's still a strange sensation for my daughter to have something pissed against her face, but I hope as she becomes more familiar with it she will find the sweet spot. The one thing I couldn't figure out what to do with is the hippo fin, should I be attaching it somewhere? It doesn't seem to affect the operation of the snorkel. If it gets her in the water not be worried about getting water in her eyes and mouth and she enjoys wearing it, it's a winner in my book. ... show more

    • Great Way to Get Kids Into the Water

We've been working with our kids to gain more confidence in the water and one technique that's always helped in other areas is to isolate areas of growth. So, for swimming, you've got to worry about breathing, about your legs, your arms, your face...so many different things. The fun thing about these snorkel masks is that they allow you to take away the one thing that's most scary and most likely to slow down development on the technique side - the breathing and fear of swallowing water - until you can build up their aquatic confidence a bit. This has helped us tremendously because they can get their bodies, arms, and legs accustomed to floating and they can learn to relax without worrying about water getting in their eyes, noses, or mouths until they've developed the skills they need to keep themselves afloat. This is a great little mask because it's easy to put on, easy to see through, and has all the modern safety features (like a water shut off valve) that you'd expect. It's got great colors and the little character graphics make it even more fun to wear. We love it! It's helping our little guys get more and more confident every day! ... show more

My son loves his new snorkeling mask, finally a mask he can fully breathe under water as long as he doesn’t submerge the breathing tube under water. It suctions around his face well and the elastic wrap around his head stay put and comfortable. The mask is super cute, too. Too cold for pool but my son swam in the bathtub and didn’t want to get out because he had so much fun breathing and seeing clearly under water all his water toys, no fogging or leak inside the mask unless he pulled on it. He can talk in it but sound like a scuba diver. The breathing tube works well because the minute it is submerged, I knew my son couldn’t breathe, he made a panic face but as soon as he picks up his head, he could breathe again. I like that you can fold the tube for storage, it comes with storage bag, ear plugs, and an extra replacement valves. The only assembly is to put the cute hippo fin on the breathing tube. My son’s new favorite item for swimming, can’t wait to try it out in the pool and snorkeling in the ocean. Definitely recommend it!!! ... show more
