Features

  • Our highest grade of matcha, the word Kiwami translates to ultimate or extreme. Displaying a balanced umami flavor, Kiwami presents tasting notes of florals, honey, and cream, a refreshing fragrance, and a hint of natural sweetnessits also the best matcha weve ever tasted.
  • Sustainably grown in the hills of Shizuoka, Japan, this unique tea is carefully crafted from hand-picked tea leaves of a single cultivar: the Okumidori cultivated tea variety, well-renowned for its matcha profile. This makes Kiwami rare, as most matcha is made using a blend of cultivars from multiple farms in order to achieve the desired balanced taste.
  • How to Prepare: Sift 0.5 - 1.5 tsp (to strength preference) of matcha into whisking bowl. Add 2 oz of water heated to 180F. Using bamboo whisk, whisk vigorously in a zig-zag pattern until all clumps dissolve and a nice froth is achieved. For a latte: combine whisked matcha with 6 oz of warm or cold milk For an americano: combine whisked matcha with 6 oz of hot water
  • Sourced from a multi-generational single estate, Kiwami is ground to order from first harvest tea leaves. It is pesticide-free, fertilized with organic materials, and shaded by solar panels. At Matchaful, we believe you should know where your matcha came from and the journey it took to get to you, from farm-to-whisk.
  • Our matcha is sourced from a sustainable, fourth-generation family farm located in the Shizuoka Prefecture of Japan. The plants are grown without pesticides and fertilized using organic compost from the local community, thereby maintaining a closed-loop system. Our matcha is stone-ground to order in small batches for optimal freshness.

  • Absolutely lovely!
Flavor Name: Hikari
I'm new making matcha at home and have to say I'm hooked on this one! It is delicious - not bitter in the slightest - and so smooth. I've used it on its own with water and in a latte and each version is great. I love how easily it mixes (no clumping) and the packing is convenient and clean. Drinking this every morning makes me feel energized, focused and so healthy. I used to drink coffee several times a day and can honestly say I'll never go back. TIP: Make sure you also have a bamboo whisk and sifter to really make sure you're getting the full experience! I used my blender bottle as a cheat for the first few days until I received the "tools" and they definitely make a difference :) ... show more

  • Disappointing, Bitter, and Old
Flavor Name: Kiwami 30g
When you open the tin of matcha, and it is not bright green, you know you have wasted our money. And that was the case with this matcha, which was bitter and old tasting. I was branching out to try a new matcha, but I will stick to Ippodo brand, which is always quality, bright green and delicious. This one is not worth the money--at all. Wish I could return it, but of course I opened it. ... show more

  • Small but mighty tasty!
Flavor Name: Hikari
I was at first surprised that the canister was small, but you really don't need a lot to make a flavorful cup! I prefer to make it with warm milk in a latte style. I don't have a bamboo whisk, so I use a small egg whisk. I like that this company uses sustainable farming practices too.
