This has a magnetic back but also includes two sticky pads so you can attach it to the dishwasher if the magnet doesn't work. The cover slides easily from one side to the other to reveal the appropriate adjective for what is currently in the dishwasher. The text is large and easy to read and the color coding makes it obvious at a quick glance. This is exactly what we needed to replace our old handmade smile/frown sign that was falling apart.

I like everything about this product- it’s big, the high contrast colors make it easy to read from a distance, and it was easy to install- the magnet kept falling off of my older dishwasher, so I used the included double-sided adhesives instead and haven’t had a single problem since. Best $7.49 I’ve ever spent on this website!

This is a very clever product. I saw it at a friend's house and immediately ordered one for myself. I can't even count how many times someone in my family put dirty dishes or silverware into a just-cleaned dishwasher load. I would leave paper notes around to say whether or not the dishes were clean, but somehow they ended up on the floor, or were simply disregarded. Can't miss with this sign! And it does stay attached strongly to the dishwasher. My only suggestion, and therefore a 4 star instead of a 5 star rating, is that there is no way to indicate that the dishwasher is currently running, or "On." Dishwashers are so quiet these days, and with controls where you cannot necessarily see them, so you can't always tell when they are on. I wish this sign had a section for indicating that the dishwasher is running, so I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. To solve the problem myself, I slide the indicator halfway between "clean and dirty" to signal that the dishwasher is running.
