I have had a Kitchenaid stand mixer for over 30 years. I started with a tilt-head model and graduated to a bowel-lowering one. I'll admit I chose this book for some new recipes to try. I was pleasantly surprised with the content. Anyone new to this mixer will be pleased with all the introductory information. I especially like the list of accessories that can be purchased with the mixer. Now, onto the recipes. They are very thoughtful, updated recipes that look and sound good. I appreciate that there are healthy ones, not just the run-of-the-mill cookie cake recipes. This mixer is made for more than simple baking and the book highlights its versatility!   • Unfortunately, the book didn’t suit our needs.
I picked up this book because I was looking for simple recipes for beginners, as stated in the title. My eldest daughter is eager to bake on her own, and I hoped this book would be a great guide for her. Unfortunately, I was very disappointed, and here’s why: 1. The book has almost no illustrations. The few that are included are poorly formatted and appear stretched. To feel inspired to cook a dish, you need to see it, and this book lacks that visual appeal. 2. The recipes turned out to be far more complicated than expected. They include too many ingredients, which doesn’t match the "for beginners" level that was advertised. 3. In many places, the text feels oddly repetitive, which made me suspicious. I decided to check if it was AI-generated, and unfortunately, my suspicions were confirmed—the text was entirely AI-generated. This raises serious doubts about the reliability of the recipes, as AI-generated content often contains errors or fabrications. AI tends to "hallucinate," especially when working with common material like this. 4. I also noticed “messy” leftovers from copy-paste sections, indicating that the text wasn’t properly proofread or reviewed before publication. Kitchenaid Stand Mixer Cookbook for Beginners gave good information about Kitchenaid Stand mixers that I hadn’t known before. I hadn’t really thought about using it for pizza and pasta until reading this cookbook. I appreciated the many recipes for breads, doughs, cookies, and toppings.   • Pretty good
I liked this book, we bought our mom a Kitchenaid stand-mixer about 25 years ago and it still works! I don't know if they're as good today as they were back then, but that one is still going and I used it not that long ago - good stuff. This book has some good recipes with a healthy slant, the author is definitely a high-protein advocate. I prefer a balanced view, yes we certainly need protein but, if you can afford a Kitchenaid, you're probably living somewhere where protein isn't scarce. Either way, though, there are some great recipes in here-I can't wait to try her ranch dressing recipe, and I'm extra excited because I can make it lactose free! My only real quibble with the book (apart from the lack of pictures that seems to be the trend with many cookbooks these days) is with some of her conversions. Particularly the attempt to substitute sugar without really looking into it too much. There are many references to replacing 1/4 to 1/2 cup of sugar with erythritol or stevia. Now, I'm guessing the author has never used stevia because if she'd put 1/2 a cup of it into a standard recipe, I'm fairly sure her head would've fallen off. It's STRONG stuff that does not slide in measure for measure with sugar. Just make sure you check your conversions or you'll waste a lot of ingredients and ruin your dish.
