This is a case where the product is as good as its name. It's a KitchenAid. Yes it's corded, not battery powered, but it works very well and it is powerful. I use it for blending crushed tomatoes for making a pomodoro sauce, and it purees the tomatoes perfectly. Tonight I used it for making a hollandaise sauce from scratch, using the blending jar that I thought I would never use. The sauce came out perfectly. It was light and creamy. Criticisms? First, the blender arm is advertized to be dishwasher safe. In my opinion, do so at your own risk. It's easy to hand clean without submersing it completely. I'm sure the seals are good, but I want mine to last a long time. Second, the pan guard is a bit dodgy. It doesn't seat very well at the end of the blender arm. It's fine for occasional or rare use. If you think you need a pan guard, I'd recommend blending in something that isn't delicate. This blender is so good that I'd look for another blending vessel before going to a different blender. I would guess the only real issue is with non-stick cookware. Would I recommend it? Yes! If I had to buy another immersion blender, I'd purchase this one again. ... show more

This is a great immersion blender. Our last one broke (from Costco) so we replaced with this and so far I like it better. This attaches easily, works well and is easy to use. Just got it. Thing is huge. Easy to clean and the trigger is variable. It's probably the next best thing before going to a professional one. Worked with frozen bananas and strawberries. Seems well built and solid. So glad i spent the extra 20$ and got this instead of whatever else I was looking at. I like these better than blenders because with a blender you also have to clean the cup and it's a pain. This thing I just make my smoothie in a cup i drink it in and use it in a cup of water to clean it. So simple ... show more

I'm a proficient home cook, and have found this gadget to be indispensable. I've used it to make mayonaise inside a widemouth mason jar which I then popped directly into the fridge, and to speedily blitz potato leek soup in the pot on the stove. It saves dishes, it saves time. The blades are easily cleaned by whizzing in soapy water, and then put away immediately. It's like the food happened by magic, cuz there's no extra mess afterwards! I appreciate the intuitive speed control on this unit. The harder you press the button, the faster the blade spins. The accessories are pointless...I don't need a plastic cup taking up cabinet space when I've got a kitchenful of widemouth mason jars in constant rotation, in which to both blend and store. A metal blade guard would be preferable for longevity and food safety (I avoid plastic in contact with food, especially if hot). I expect this plastic thingy will get lost or broken quickly.
