This dish drainer is the first out of three in the past 18 months that is built to slope downward and drain into the sink. The tray is large and has enough weight as to not shift. The unit itself is powder coated so rust will not be an issue. The drainage area is extra large. I hand wash many items out of personal preference and for the first time have enough space to load all items for drying without concern of an avalanche. The only disadvantage if one could call it so, is that the unit is attractive but quite large and takes up counter space. I feel the positives far outweigh the issue.

Love this dish drain rack! Mat is easy to remove and clean and does drain well. Love that the utensil holder has slots (which you can remove if needed) which is especially nice for knifes. Center utensil holder is great for larger items. Love the cup holders which I do use a lot and it is on the end that drains into the sink. I lean my plates so that they don’t fall over (as others mentioned) which dries well. I’ve never had an issue with water on my counter as some has mentioned. It does hold a large amount of dishes/pans and silverware. I would definitely buy again. Well worth the money.

I do not have a dishwasher so this Kitchen aid dish drainer is perfect for me. It is big enough to hold a meals worth of dishes and cookware. It is nice looking, which is important since it stays on the counter all the time. I highly recommend this dish drainer. I used a Rubbermaid dish drainer for 17 years! I feel very fancy now!! If you are looking for an attractive very functional dish drainer, this is it.

Overall I am pleased with this dish rack as the size fit perfectly in my space to be able to drain into the sink. It’s large and holds a lot of dishes. I especially like the utensil compartment. The stainless steel siding is a nice touch that matches my appliances. I have a few complaints. Firstly, the “tilt” level of the draining board is not quite enough to drain all the water and it ends up sitting there. At least it’s easy to remove the board and clean it every once and a while, but I used a towel to prop up one side further for better draining. I do still wish water dropped off the board more easily. My other complaint is that it’s hard to sit normal sized plates upright to dry without awkwardly propping them on each other. The metal “slats” are not designed in the most functional way, but I still recommend this drying rack. I actually prefer this over the more expensive simplehuman one.

We currently have a small dish rack and use a flat ribbed silicone mat for extra items, but the collected water doesn’t drain from it so items take forever to dry. We looked for a better solution. Loved the size of the KitchenAid rack and that it comes with a sloped extension for additional cups etc. Kitchen Aid is a good brand and this is a nicely-finished, well-made dish rack. But as others have said the sides are too low to support larger items. I guess we could leave the wine glass extension attached to lean large items against. Also, the bottom tray came curved upward in the middle, so water collects in the 2 front corners next to the drain opening instead of flowing into the sink. For an $80 dish rack, I expect it to function properly out of the box—not need me to bend parts to the proper shape (which I tried but it’s still not right). This one is going back for something just as nice but with higher sides and a drain that works. Also one nitpick is it has supports for 10 plates, which is the same as our small dish rack— would have been nice to have more (our dishes are flat).

I've bought several of the plastic dish drainers by OXO that were almost this much....this one is MUCH better! It's much more substantial with no plastic parts breaking off. Looks much better too.

Well, my dishwasher stopped working - ugh and had to resort to hand washing while the repair man was searching for a replacement part. The first unit arrived with a cracked / broken utensil holder, but Amazon quickly resolved that by shipping out another one immediately. This dish rack / drainer is very well designed. The legs elevate the unit high enough that the slide out bottom drainer tray fits above my sink and allows for good drainage. The only thing that is weak about this unit is the utensil holder, it could be more sturdy, but the replacement unit hasn’t broken in over a month’s usage.
