We have a large house with a huge central living room/dining room and a large, open kitchen. When it gets cooler in the house (propane heat), we use 'flower pot' heaters in the bedrooms to keep the chill out of the rooms during colder months in Michigan. This fan worked on my flower pot heater! It's amazing how much heat you get from those tiny candles! It doesn't move very much air but it does make a difference in smaller rooms. Considering I live on a large farm way out in the country, losing power in the winter is just a way of life. Though I have this one in my bedroom (about 20 x 25 feet), with 3, 8-hour burning tealights and this fan, it's cozy for me and my tropical plants. I feel better that this can be used to help warm the main part of the house when the power goes out, because it always does. So far so good. I like this fan. It keeps air moving around my wood stove. Not sure of the longevity of this fan but I am putting it through its paces right now. It runs 24/7 with my wood stove. It doesn’t move a ton of air but I didn’t get it for that. I got it to keep air flowing so that the hot air didn’t go straight to the ceiling. It also use it to help me gauge when I need at add wood without having to open the door. If the fan is moving slow I have to add more wood(no fancy glass door on my stove). Had a chance to test this out last weekend on two different woodstoves -- a big Home Comfort kitchen model and a smaller bedroom Morsø. In both cases, the fan started spinning shortly after lighting and stayed almost silent during operation. I'm a super light sleeper and any repetitive sound tends to keep me up, but I slept through the night except for stoking the fire. The unit is lighter than the heavier duty models from EcoFan and every now and then, it would make a very slight vibrational sound but shifting it a little would solve this immediately. Don't expect massive air circulation from this, it won't move the heat into another room or anything, but it will boost the efficiency of any radiant heater with a flat hot surface using zero energy input or extra cost. ... show more
