  • This is an awesome nailer / stapler! Then it wasn't. It became very dangerous.
Style: bare tool-3
The media could not be loaded. Update: I bought another one of these because the first one worked so well. The second one worked for a few hours then when I went to replace the battery I smelled burning electronics. I yanked the battery out and the smell stopped. I put the battery back in and it seemed fine but when I pulled the trigger only the light would come on. The gun wouldn't fire. I removed the battery and tried another, known good battery and the gun began constantly firing. It completely ignores the trigger and the safety tip and just fires constantly. I'll include a video showing the problem. Apparently the second battery it came with was defective and when I attached it to the staple gun it burned out parts of the staple gun. So I got one that works fine and one that is clearly defective. I'm returning the clearly broken one. ---------- I have the DeWalt 18 gauge brad nailer, but it won't shoot staples. I went to use my pneumatic nailer / stapler the other day and it had broken. The little safety mechanism wouldn't depress all the way in. so the gun wouldn't fire. I went online to buy a new pneumatic nailer / stapler and saw this. I have two other Kimo tools. The 1/2" impact and the 3/8" ratchet. They are both very good, reliable tools, so I went ahead and bought this too. After setting it up I am very impressed with it! My DeWalt uses angled 18 gauge brad nails that are a little harder to find than the straight ones and a little more expensive. The DeWalt also will not fire staples. Just brad nails. This Kimo uses the more common straight brad nails and standard 18 gauge staples and it functions better than the Dewalt too. The DeWalt takes longer to "spin up" than this Kimo does, and its louder than the Kimo. Both the DeWalt and the Kimo have a built-in soft tip, that you can't lose. That's nice. A friend of mine has a porter cable that uses little replaceable plastic soft tips. he is always losing them and they are not cheap to replace. The Kimo's is built in and cannot be lost. That's a big bonus. When you are installing cabinets with a fine paint job on them, losing the dang soft tip is very annoying. I am thinking of selling my DeWalt and just using this Kimo for everything. Kimo tools are great. They are offered at great prices and I have never experienced a quality issue with any of them. I am a Kimo fan now with three of their tools in my arsenal. ... show more

  • Too many issues with NO support
I started using this gun about 3 months ago and I have had several issues with it with no one from support ever reaching back out to me. First, one battery out of the two has just never worked. Secondly, anytime that I charge the battery that does work I cant use it immediately after. When I put it back on the nail gun all that happens is the flash light flashing like it doesn’t have enough or too much power. Once I drain the battery some then it will work. Third, it has started jamming more and more and after this last time it did now it wont fire anymore after clearing the jam. I checked the safety and firing pins and they look fine but the gun only makes a whirring noise and doesnt fire any air like it all escaped during the jam since it almost multi fired several nails. Im writing this review because it completely broke with light use (havent even used half the box of nails that came with it) but lasted just long enough to put me past the return window and no one answering me through their support website/email. ... show more

  • Great Nail Gun and at a Nice Price
The media could not be loaded. This finish brad nailer is a great buy for the money. It has a solid construction and feels good in my hand. It has everything you need. I tried it with multiple-length brad nails and in both soft and hardwood. For the hardwood, I tried 1/2 inch and doubled it up. When using 3/4-inch and 1-inch brad nails, it was able to nail in both soft and hard wood, and on hard wood, both thicknesses. When I tried the largest brad nail size,. It was able to penetrate the soft and only the ½-inch side of the hardwood. For the one-inch side, it had trouble going all the way in. I tried both single and sequential firing with multiple sizes of brad nails, and it had no issues. On the sequential firing mode, it surprised me by keeping up. I expected a delay but did not see any. I ran it through hundreds of nails without seeing any loss in battery life. Which indicates to me that with two batteries it will run for quite some time. I am happy with the battery nail gun, as my air equivalent version is a pain to use for times when I am building something small and just have a need for a small amount of nails for the project. With this one I just grab it, load the nails, and I am done versus getting the air compressor out, hooking up the air hose, and then waiting until it gets up to pressure before hooking up the air gun and using it. ... show more

  • Easy to use for DIY and price effective
Style: bare tool-3
Getting on for years with some hand issues, not able to drive small nails straight anymore. This electric nailer is just my answer for doing baseboards on my hands and knees, driving nails sideways. I found that this Kimo is reasonably priced for a complete kit with two batteries, and could drive 18-gauge 2" nails. Powerful but light enough to handle easily. Now I can focus on the work instead of swearing at the bent nails. I should have bought this a long time ago. ... show more

  • Professional and Easy to Use
This tool is amazing! It works just like a professional nailer. It comes with 2 batteries, which is very convenient. It worked right out of the box. As a woman, it was light enough for me to use comfortably.
