Update: I bought another one of these because the first one worked so well. The second one worked for a few hours then when I went to replace the battery I smelled burning electronics. I yanked the battery out and the smell stopped. I put the battery back in and it seemed fine but when I pulled the trigger only the light would come on. The gun wouldn't fire. I removed the battery and tried another, known good battery and the gun began constantly firing. It completely ignores the trigger and the safety tip and just fires constantly. I'll include a video showing the problem. Apparently the second battery it came with was defective and when I attached it to the staple gun it burned out parts of the staple gun. So I got one that works fine and one that is clearly defective. I'm returning the clearly broken one. ---------- I have the DeWalt 18 gauge brad nailer, but it won't shoot staples. I went to use my pneumatic nailer / stapler the other day and it had broken. The little safety mechanism wouldn't depress all the way in. so the gun wouldn't fire. I went online to buy a new pneumatic nailer / stapler and saw this. I have two other Kimo tools. The 1/2" impact and the 3/8" ratchet. They are both very good, reliable tools, so I went ahead and bought this too. After setting it up I am very impressed with it! My DeWalt uses angled 18 gauge brad nails that are a little harder to find than the straight ones and a little more expensive. The DeWalt also will not fire staples. Just brad nails. This Kimo uses the more common straight brad nails and standard 18 gauge staples and it functions better than the Dewalt too. The DeWalt takes longer to "spin up" than this Kimo does, and its louder than the Kimo. Both the DeWalt and the Kimo have a built-in soft tip, that you can't lose. That's nice. A friend of mine has a porter cable that uses little replaceable plastic soft tips. he is always losing them and they are not cheap to replace. The Kimo's is built in and cannot be lost. That's a big bonus. When you are installing cabinets with a fine paint job on them, losing the dang soft tip is very annoying. I am thinking of selling my DeWalt and just using this Kimo for everything. Kimo tools are great. They are offered at great prices and I have never experienced a quality issue with any of them. I am a Kimo fan now with three of their tools in my arsenal.

Awesome nail gun and I’m a first time user. Was able to use it with ease and I caught it on a lightning deal. Comes with a bag and two batteries and the batteries were pretty much charged straight out the box. Highly recommended

GREAT NAIL GUN! Only reason for not giving it a full five-star rating is because when it stopped working after almost three years of moderately heavy usage (using it an average of 2 days each week during approximately 40 weeks out of each year) I couldn't find any helpful customer support or practical repair services to replace its failed interior electronics control board. However, for its relatively modest price, versatile features...like its 2-in-1 ability to drive both brads and staples in a wide range of lengths, automatic contact versus manual triggering feature options, nicely focused project light, manageable weight for balanced one-handed usage, and its convenient nail depth adjustment dial...as well as the fact that it almost never jammed (and when it did, it was usually my fault), this powerful nail gun with its long-lasting battery is the best overall brad and staple driver that I've ever used. Since the only way to have the now failed electronics board of my first one repaired/replaced apparently is to ship it back to China, I've acknowledged that I've gotten MORE than my money's worth out of it and have just ordered a new one...exact same model, except this time it's being sold with two batteries, rather than the one battery that came with the original, and for the same modest price of the first one! Again, if this company had a USA-based repair service location and better customer support, I'd give it a solid 5-star rating!

I have multiple projects that I need to tackle that will require a brad nailer and a staple gun. I didn't have either of these tools and was looking for one tool to serve both purposes. I searched the Internet looking for a cordless combo option, preferably from Milwaukee or DeWalt, but I couldn't find that either of these brands made an 18- gauge brad nailer and crown stapler combo. That's what led me to the KIMO 20V 18 Gauge Cordless Brad Nailer/Stapler Kit. After reading the Kimo marketing material for this product on Amazon, reading through the reviewer comments, and learning more about Kimo I was convinced that this would be a worthwhile purchase, backed by a company with great customer service. I purchased the product on Amazon and received it within a few days. All the items in the associated picture were included in the box. Upon receiving, I was excited to start hammering in a few test staples/nails into a scrap piece of wood. Initially the gun didn't fire but that was because I didn't install the staples correctly and needed to read the instructions first. After I loaded the staples properly it worked great. This past weekend I was ready to confidently take on my first job of hanging tongue and groove panels on the wall of an 12'x'12'x9' room. I used 2" 18-gauge brad nails and adjusted the countersink knob to my desired depth and I was off. It took me two day to hang the pine tongue and groove and each day I started out with a fully charged battery that lasted the entire day firing in hundreds of brad nails. I appreciated the battery life indicator on the battery because towards the end of the day I was wondering how much I had left in the battery and it was only to orange so I knew I would make it through the day. The weight of the gun wasn't a problem for me as it was very easy for me to maneuver the gun into a position of choice so I could get the nail driven in. I also appreciated LED lights that turn on when you pull the trigger but given the fact I was working in a lit up area I wondered if I could turn that option off to save battery life but you can't turn it off and the two LED lights didn't impact the battery. I only had one self inflicted jam and that is when I switched from staples to brad nails and it was completely operator error and I was able to quickly clear the jam. I never experienced a jam shooting in the hundreds of brad nails and the only time it wouldn't fire is when I needed more brad nails. I am completely thrilled with this purchase and it has meet all of my needs. It seems to be a quality product built for the long term. I'm excited to begin tackling my other projects with this unit and will look at Kimo for other cordless products in the future.

I started using this gun about 3 months ago and I have had several issues with it with no one from support ever reaching back out to me. First, one battery out of the two has just never worked. Secondly, anytime that I charge the battery that does work I cant use it immediately after. When I put it back on the nail gun all that happens is the flash light flashing like it doesn’t have enough or too much power. Once I drain the battery some then it will work. Third, it has started jamming more and more and after this last time it did now it wont fire anymore after clearing the jam. I checked the safety and firing pins and they look fine but the gun only makes a whirring noise and doesnt fire any air like it all escaped during the jam since it almost multi fired several nails. Im writing this review because it completely broke with light use (havent even used half the box of nails that came with it) but lasted just long enough to put me past the return window and no one answering me through their support website/email.

After assembling 40 doors for a shop, I noticed that the nose on the brad nailer was a bit heavy, unlike air nailers that are lighter I found the ease of use was great! handled like a regular air one, one thing about the weight in front it helps to dampen the recoil and set the brad deeper so no resetting brads. Batteries worked well, charging was able to keep up with me. I have bought many a nailer for shops and home, for the price this is great nailer. If your mobile installer or a home owner or just need one, best buy!! also I do own a multi oscillating tool much better than my old one KEITH F

I was looking for a brad nailer that didn't require a compressor, as I wanted something that would speed up being able to build smaller things and do some repairs around the house. I also wanted something that was lighter in weight, as I'm not getting any younger (or obviously any stronger). For the price, I felt like the KIMO 20V 18 Gauge Cordless Brad Nailer/Stapler, 2 in 1 Cordless Nail/Staple Gun would be a good idea. It wasn't the least expensive nail gun, and it was far from the most expensive one, and it appeared to have all the features I wanted. And at 9.5 lbs (plus about 1 lb for the battery), it seemed like it would work. When it was delivered (even two day Prime delivery was too long to wait; that's how excited I was), I immediately opened up everything, but first the most important thing--I sat down and read the directions. I'll be honest, before I used it, I was really afraid of accidentally putting a nail through my foot. Reading the directions helped alleviate some of that fear, but I still keep a healthy respect for it. Since I already had a project going, and was just waiting for the nailer's delivery to pick up work on it again, I loaded the nails, put in the battery (it was already charged and ready to go), then went to my project. The first nail went in beautifully, as did the second. The third the same and so on. It was so easy to use--just put it into position, press, then pull the trigger. It was literally that easy. I'm in love with this thing already. My mind is going crazy, thinking of all the things I can do now that this nailer will make things so much faster and easier. As far as the weight goes, nearly 10.5 lbs. is a bit heavier than I anticipated, but it's not bad. Right now, my projects aren't overhead, but I could see it getting really heavy, really fast if I was working overhead. I guess that just means I'll have to stop and take a break. I'm sure even with breaks, it'll still be faster and easier than if I didn't have this nailer. For the price, it's a great deal. UPDATE: Dang, I love this thing! In the few months I've had it, I've added wood railing to my front porch, built a garden trellis, put up a wall with shiplap, built shelves in a pantry and several other projects around the house. This nailer makes projects so quick and easy. It's super easy to use and well worth the money.

A recent wind got my fence down and I bought this to re-staple three sections of my fence. I cringed at the thought of pulling my compressor from the garage. Aside from its back breaking weight, i knew i'd have trouble squeezing behind the trees and bushes that grew up recently all over by those three sections, with a hose. So i bought this just for this 3-section job. I feel i should draw the attention to the 2-in-1 feature of this one. I was looking specifically for a stapler capable of driving 1" to 1.5" staples. Many other similar tools are just brad nail guns, not staplers, so they would be unsuitable for my particular job (not to mention i felt much happier at the price of this one). This is the first cordless nailer i've bought . I have a full compressor with stapler and all sorts of guns. This is by no means a replacement for the framing gun, but it has absolutely no problem driving same 1.5" staples i used with my compressor stapler to fix the fence in the past. Granted, the fence wood is pretty soft; but subjectively i don't feel any lack of power at all in comparison to the compressor. It is a little heavier than my air stapler, but not to a degree that it'd be burdensome for 200-300 staples job. Besides, you probably want a little extra weight in a nailer; with a lighter nailer you'd need to press more to ensure proper strike. This one is a bit more forgiving, especially for vertical placement. I had a few misfires, but i think it may be a user error on my part until i got used to it. It feels like it does a series of two strikes, so i might have retracted a little earlier than necessary until i figured it out. I had no jams so far with staples, either 1" or 1.5". The driving depth adjustment works well, needs to be adjusted for a particular wood type. I did the job with the battery right out of the box. When i finished, I put it to charge -- it was half-charged at this point. I suppose if if you wanted to do 5 or more spans of fence, it would be prudent to have another battery ready. The led light is double-sided and throws a bit of a wedge-shaped shadow in front. This is little different thought from other tools, the led lighting on these is often a shortcoming, and often one-side only (if you watched cordless nailer reviews on youtube, they all are somewhat lacking in that department, and often to a greater degree than this one). I was a little bit surprised that i did not find any word on oiling it as air tools would normally suggest. Is it really maintenance-free? I am a little worried about the longevity of this tool, but only the time will tell. For small projects and infrequent use such as mine it should do just fine.
