After having all new floors installed, we decided to update the paint we had applied 20 years ago when we moved in. We saved this room for last because we were both apprehensive about how many coats it was going to take to fully cover that red. The Kilz reputation led me to this paint, and I really was bummed when I learned that Amazon is the sole source for their "Tribute" line. Not that I have anything against Amazon, I order from here nearly every week (sometimes several times a week). I just felt it was very risky buying paint- it's heavy and if it were to come open during shipping, it could be something akin to a disaster. Before I select a paint, I have always painted a section of foam core board so I can check multiple locations in differing lights to be sure of the color prior to putting it on the wall(s). Of course, samples were "unavailable" in the colors I was most interested in. After debating for almost 2 weeks, I went ahead and took the chance on the one I thought was my favorite. I ordered 2/25, it was delivered 2/25 in perfect condition. WHEW! Now for the really good news; this paint goes on like a dream, gives excellent coverage (even on the red), and dried to exactly the color I expected. The only prep (other than taping off NO PAINT zones) was brushing the walls with a broom and then filling nail holes with DAP Spackling Compound. We didn't sand the surface, which was previously a satin sheen, and had absolutely no problem with this paint adhering. ONE COAT COVERAGE!! I'm not kidding, folks. Painted my bathroom cabinet and mirror the Oceanic color. It looks great! I slacked with sanding, so i'll need to apply another coat. It is fully covered with two of the sample sizes, but I ordered another for a final coat and to get the inside of the front doors done. An amazing color and just what I wanted to get rid of the cherry red cabinet! I recommend and will be ordering KILZ brand from here on out. ... show more

We used this in our camper remodel and couldn't be happier with it. Used an oil based killzone primer and this paint go's on so smoothly with amazing coverage. I have yet to have found a paint with better coverage and smoothness as this over the years. The price is more than worth it being that it takes little paint to do such a large job. With two coats it only took about a 1/4 can for this job with full coverage. ... show more

The media could not be loaded. True to color shown online. I like the color, but I should have picked something with less grey in it since my walls are grey, oops! Still way better than the old white/yellowed laminate cabinets in my laundry room. Showing a white pad of paper for comparison. I used two coats and just the small sample sized one and it just covered these 3 cabinets perfectly! If you have a slightly bigger job (but not by a lot) I would buy two samples since it’s still cheaper than the bigger size can. Oh, and there is honestly no odor! That was really nice. ... show more

Bought the 8oz sample and it covered 2 small nightstands (2 coats each). Arrived without spillage. These were a dark color before so it is especially impressive that this light color (mountain stream) covered so well. Had to paint them in my apartment but I opened my windows as I was worried about the smell. Barely even noticed it and it didn’t linger. The satin finish is perfect for furniture. Not flat but not too glossy so every little nick and ding doesn’t show on well loved furniture. Definitely going to try a few more colors. 5 bucks is a great deal to refinish and modernize something that might otherwise end up in a landfill. ... show more

I'll start out by saying that buying paint online is risky but I was thinking more about color match than the actual paint when I bought this. The color is very accurate to what it shown online, HOWEVER the actual paint has a couple issues. The paint is quite thin, and requires a lot to cover your surface; basically, the opposite of "a little goes a long way." Additionally, there were flecks of dried paint in my jar, so I was constantly picking them out of my fresh paint. I realized that I have no idea how long the paint has been sitting on a shelf in a warehouse somewhere, so that may have been the root cause. ... show more
