  • Did the job sort of
First off; the kiln cement did not have any instructions other than to say "Apply out of jar". It applied easy enough and I was able to form it easily using some basic paint scrapers. My kiln had a couple of major chunks gouged out (3/4 inch deep by 5 inch long pieces). My first fire after 3 days of application was a cone 05 at medium speed. The kiln cement that was exposed to the heat turned from dark gray to a tan color and bubbled up in some sections. In other spots, it expanded and seperated from the existing brick. And there are a few cracks scattered about. Overall, I would say it worked. After that first fire, the cement is rock hard. ... show more

  • hey Evenheat..... how about instructions?
As others have mentioned there are no application instructions. Not all refractory repair cements are created equal so it'd be handy if Evenheat would include 'how to use instructions'. I did reach out to Evenheat and they emailed a .pdf almost immediately, so it'd be a good idea to do the same. Outside of that, it seems to have worked okay for my purposes. As with most of these products, it helps to wet the surfaces being repaired, and don'y apply too thick. Build up in several passes if over 1/4", after first application has dried and been fired. ... show more

  • Bonds very well
This high-temperature cement bonded very to my kiln. Dries hard in less than 24 hours. I had a fairly large repair that took 3 Lbs to complete the repair and it held well. The only con I have is it is quite expensive for one pound.

  • It doesn't come with directions which I needed
I would have liked instructions included with the product. I've had to Google for information about application, curing and first firing. A set of instructions would have been very nice. Oh well, on my own

Applies easily using a putty knife or similar flat blade and can be smoothed or applied with the fingers if needed. Dries to the touch in a hour or so and adheres well. Works a charm. It does have a darker gray color, darker than the standard fire brick in our kiln.

  • Great product
As novices, we really messed up the kiln and thought we would have to buy a new one. It needs to be done more than once because we created huge craters but it did it. Worth the high cost

  • The cement worked good as an adhesive between the firebrick and type n cement.
No problem.. I’ll see when I fire it. Hopefully it will hold..
