Was looking for something musical to give to my 3 yr old niece. She has a tendency to throw and swing things so I had to rule out a LOT of instruments(I.e. guitar, keyboard, anything she could pick up really.) I was scrolling along and saw the picture for this product and remembered our vacation this past summer. We went to an interactive museum and they had a large 3 octave floor piano. She wouldn’t leave that thing, luckily for my brother, sister in law and I, she was the only kid in the place who seemed interested in it. So I bought this a gift, of course checking that they were okay with me buying a noisy toy for their house, I’m not a monster. I haven’t seen her play with it myself but they tell me it’s her favorite thing. The volume control is great, they can keep it low enough they can’t hear it from certain parts of their house and she also gets exercise from jumping around on it. She wears herself out on the thing and she’s easier to put down for sleep and naps now. Update: April 11th 2020 My Brother told me that she will wake up in the middle of the night to play on it. They now take the batteries out before bed and replace them in the morning after breakfast. It keeps her busy and occupied during the quarantine and they are happy she can move around and exercise in the house now. She prefers this to to television. ... show more

The design is quite weird. It has 10 songs built in, but must be triggered by black keys. Which means when you play the music, you can't step on the black keys otherwise the song will be switched.

    • I'd rather give it 3 stars, but don't want to drop the ratings too much.
I bought this toy for my 2 yr old because he beat up his cheap, plastic piano. He likes stomping on this, but the Demo button makes the most annoying sound. It's just two keys pinging OVER AND OVER AND OVER in the most annoying tune. It drives us both crazy and we end up shutting it off. There is another, slightly longer tune that it gets stuck on and it drives us nuts. If my child was old enough to really play a piano, I think it would be more fun for the adults. I don't expect him to start pounding out classical pieces, this piano really grates on our nerves when it starts playing automatically. Hitting other keys won't even get the "Demo" tune to stop. I believe it has to be shut off. Another thing that bothers me is that it starts off really loud. I will lower the volume, but my toddler likes to switch it on and off, so I have to keep lowering it. I finally put it away for the time being, just like the toys he insists on chewing on. I'm sure he'll get a lot more enjoyment out of it in a few more months. ... show more
